Bing Lee Celebrates 1 Year At Its New HQ at Guildford
Surprisingly, no car from Mr Fiore...
...but what was there included the Fujitsu Racing group... Jumping castle, radio 2WS, Fujitsu grid girls, Mr Bright himself.. lots of kids, signed posters, free hats, drink coolers and stuff... sausage sizzle... They certainly picked a good day (40C+) to advertise the merits of Fujitsu air conditioners! |

Guess that solves the comment you made in the silly season thread that 'he has a sponsor in the works'

What sort of a crowd did the display pull in GTR.
Did many people chat with Jason or were they more interested in shopping. Just trying to gauge the appeal of a display like that. |

A fair part of the Lee family were actually on deck as well... There were plenty of poster signings, personalised to whoever you liked, some pics in front of the car for Mr Bright and/or with the Fujitsu girls... This was advertised in the local paper, and on a mid-size Sydney radio station, so people knew it was on... |

Probably a cross pollination deal...
Jason is actually there promoting Air Con more so than the Bing Lee Store and Bing Lee hasn't even thought to bring the Fiore car out. |

Wouldn't you rather advertise "come meet V8 driver Jason Bright", rather than "driver Dean Fiore"?? I thing logic can answer that. Obviously that store must move a lot of Fujitsu units or maybe there setting something up for next year. But as for an opportunity for VESA to do something, you have got to be joking, right?!?! Unless it's for themselves or one of the series partners, I very much doubt they would take an interest in getting "the show" to appear at some suburban electrical store. Seriously though, this thread raises a good point about sponsorship and leverage. |

well the design had Armageddon's name all over it, so it should be accurate. You would think that give the history between Dean and Mr Lee that he would have been at least asked to show up, unless the WA stickers were yet to have been removed after Barbagallo and restickered for Homebush, or in fact the car being close to Sydney?

no there was a different design in MeNews, predominately blue, and that is for 2010, with a Holden badge on the front? would have thought a Falcon livery would be released 1st for 2010?

Same reason Rodney Jane's cars always had Bridgestone, Pirelli, Yokohama etc on the side. T-Marts stock those tyres the same as Bing Lee stocks Panasonic and Sony products.

Yeah, in industry often called "co-op" dollars, or a "marketing fund".... basically means Bingers got some cash from their suppliers to spend on "joint" advertising, so both names/logos need to be on there.
