mariov should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
one make series for F1 drivers like IROC in the US

I would love to see the top drivers in F1 facw off in a one make series.....could be 10 or 20 lap event set at a few F1 tracks...Have MS, RS, JPM, JV, DC, Fisi and the second best one (hehehe) Irvine face off in identicaly prepared machines....
Have 6 events durring the season, and have one of the manufacturers supply the race cars for each event....

One event on BMW, one on Mercs, One on Toyotas, and so on....that way the manufacturers will be kept happy......that way we can finaly see them on equal ground.....

Similar to the Iroc series in the states....

What do you think?

it would be fun to watch em fight it out in equal equipment, but don't think the teams would contemplate it somehow!

Perhaps they could do a charity karting sprint race? They do football, so why not?

Charity event would be good, but Karting now...would need tp be even...and we all know that the Schumacher breoters pwn their own track. so does Button I think...It has to be even

Or something like the BMW Procar series at late 70s...
I prefer an one-make Karting race in the same circuit on Saturdays after the F3000 or on Sundays before the warm-up. It will be good to the public to see all F1 stars (with testers, and many invited drivers) racing together with the same equipment. I think it will be also funny for the same drivers.

IROC doesn't changed engines, so I'd prefer a non-F1 engine to be used.

It would be a good idea though.

IMO karting (a one-make event with fair unbiased stewards )is as even as it gets, and it would be quite possible to do IMO. Okay you wouldn't be able to draw firm conclusions from it, and if it's charity, it would be regarded as a bit sad for someone like TGF to practise for hours in his go-kart before the event.

every year some of the top divers all get together to race at the paris bercy, which is for charity, and tgf usually recieves his kart a few weeks before the event! i was under the impression that it was a turn up and race event, with the equipment given!

Even on a kart arrive & drive you'd never get all of them to turn up, only the ones who think they'll win i.e. Trulli, Button, MS, KR and Fisi.

Well remembered, Mekola. The BMW M1 series was awesome. I saw them running at Donington in 1979.

I think one of the problems with the series was that occasionally the junior drivers who had no F1 drives embarrassed the big-name stars. The same thing happened at the opening of the New Nurburgring when they ran a celebrity Mercedes 190 race. Some well established Grand Prix drivers were blown away by some young fella called Ayrton Senna da Silva....

Yeah that's the trouble with things like that- it's alright for the guy who puts one over you, but what will it do for your reputation?

And yes there are charity events but you only get about 5 max. turning up, what we really want is the entire grid...

Coming soon...ie approx. 2010...
Or will Reynard have sorted itself out before 2003? I'd like to see Premier1 race.

Jacque Villeneuve also attended once, and he has no Kart experience....he knew he had no chance of winning but did it for the fun of it

But that is not enough....we should have a series that is exclusively reserved for F1 drivers....
Have it linked to the Grand Prix balls, and linked to a charity.....make it obligatory that all f1 drivers must attend at least 2 races out of 6....no souped up engines, no traction control, no illegal bargebords, no FIA officers.......just equal rides, talent and cahounas

The BMW m1 in the 80' was great, but it involved other drivers that only raced M1's...so the F1 drivers did not like being beaten by unknowns

Yeah but Jacques is a bit odd anyway. Damon Hill turned up at Bercy event in about '95, went out for practice, found he was way off the pace and buggered off home.

So you might find for the first year drivers will turn up, but when they start to realise that gettin beat on the same equipment aint much fun then they wont be comin back.

Well, surely there must be about ten or fifteen drivers who are capable of staying on each other's tails? Ferrari and BAR could throw in their test drivers for good measure.

Maybe contract will revert to Dallara who were the original proposed chassis builder?
BTW the F1 drivers have been invited to join the proposed one off race in Dubai, using the ex ISSC/FC Euroseries cars.

Sorry not if you put them all in karts, you'd get JT,JB,KR,MS,KR,GF and Anthony Davidson leaving the others for dead with probably Trulli making a break to win it.

I'd prefer to see the top 10 F1 drivers from a season mix it with the top 5 drivers from F3000, plus the winners of the major F3 Championships from Europe in either a karting event or some form of touring car event.

But it will never happen. F1 drivers wouldn't like to be upstaged by anyone in a lower formula.

Where can we find more info? And has ISSC been given up already? It hadn't been around for long...

Some cars already exist, about 12 were at the last FC Euroseries round.I guess someone could buy the jigs,or whatever, from the liquidator? I have no info on this year's Euroseries,so you can draw you own conclusions.
