Best of British Rallycross 6th July Croft
Both the
Khumo Tyres MSA British Rallycross Championship and the Open Rallycross Championship sponsored by HiTech Motorsport, both on the same bill. This is just how it should be, let's hope that this is the beginning of bigger and better things in Rallycross in Britain and both camps playing nicely together. Let's hope that everyone can keep it civil before, during and after the event. This could be the beginning of something big so let's not have any mine is bigger/better than yours and look at the pluses of getting everyone together. |

I totally agree. This is the way forward. However, I do think that there's still some drivers that will, and some that won't, be involved with one or both of the organisers. It will be interesting to see who turns up for this in the Div1/ Supercar catergory. Alot of Euro interest, which is great IMO, might put pay to a few names, perhaps. DC has sold up (apparently) and GT & PD are committing more and more to the European rounds, which I would say will help us getting a Euro round to Lydden (GO PAT & GEORGE!), so I'm not convinced we'll get the 'cream' of British Rallycross at Croft. So my entry, not finish, prediction will be:
Ollie O'Donovan Steve Hill Tony Bell 'Mad' Mark Andy Grant George Tracey (too many options NOT to race!) Dave Binks Simon Horton (Please be ready for Lydden. I want to see the Scooby in action!!) Chris Langley Derek Jobb (My money is on Derek!! Awsome driver and car) Kevin McCann But will Bob Gooding and Terry Briggs bother? Whatever happens, it'll be an outsanding day's racing. Croft always puts on a good show, so fingers crossed the two [ROC & BRDA] can stun us all and pave the way for the best publised, joint interest, Euro rounds. Lydden or Croft. I'll be there!!!! |

Well I think you can remove GT and Derrick Jobb from that list. George will be in Höljes for the ERC, and Derrick is taking some time out this year.
Possibly add Mike Manning, Liam Doran, Steve Mundy, Tommy Graham, Lawrence Gibson and Eddie Kinirons. They have all competed in one or both of the Championships already this year. |

On the same day we have a Belgian/Dutch championship race in Maasmechelen and an ERC race in Sweden. So who will be there mate? I do like the idea, the two championships comming together. This is the best for rallycross in the UK ! |

mivec, I think moyzer means by 'a lot of Euro interest' that the interest in the ERC from the British and Irish boys means they won't be at Croft.

Just to keep you all informed I will be at croft as ROC leader and racing in open championship only. After discussions we felt that 6 heats and 2 finals etc. in a day was too much for car as well as having to change tyres and set up for each heat. Apologies but as we have missed a couple of BRC rounds and leading the ROC once again we need to concentrate on one. I must also say that we are staying at croft so anyone for a beer pop into the awning ( ps not free we are tight northerners) |

Well i'm double entered for both.
I'm under no illusions that it's going to be a tough day, considering it will be the first outing too (all fingers and toes crossed!!) My mentality is that i need to get as much tracktime as possible, and to drive the same circuit approx 8 times in the day will allow us to tweek the settings through out the day and take the car forward. I'm not promising miracles, and after the recent run of bad luck i'll just be happy to get onto the grid and racing finally, but we shall just have to see what happens on the day. si |

Looking forward to this one now, I am bringing out the BMW Challenge Rally Car, its a 170bhp stock car, they are great fun in rallies, it will be massively outpaced in Supermodified [revivals class was full], but they are good sideways machines, hope i can remember the right lines at Croft, if not I am sure Conor will walk the track with me.
Note to all Supermod drivers, I am not scoring points, it is a rally car, with 2 seats, glass windows, etc, I am out for a demo run Cheers Pat |

Just got back from a wet croft where the action was excellent.
Wished there where stalls there but at least I saved some money. Congratulations to Si Horton on a first Supercar win he drove excellent. Poor Liam Dorans car had a smash after spinning into the armco coming off the loose after the finish. his service crew worked well on straightening the space frame and replaced the radiator and I had a little helping hand by putting a front bumper from what looked like Andy Grants spare and managed to get that attached to the RS200 but Liam struck the tyres on his next run out and game over Jamie Lea in that MR2 certainly suprised showing Raggy the way round later on Big congrats to Lawrence Gibson on his wins and taking the lead of the BRC from Ollie O'D Pat "The Mighty" Flynn certainly entertained us all with the driving of his beemer at all angles. Mad Mark drove well but Tony Bell with his underpowered engine drove like a good un in Best of British Rallycross race and Manning was going like a train the biggest let down for me was not seeing Lawrence Gibson not allowed to race in the "Best of British Rallycross race" yet a car just as old as the Metro ie Bob Gooding's ex Trevor Hopkins car is allowed to run (and this is nothing against Bob or his car) but if you can allow one older car to run then the Metro should of been let in. And even though its a former Group B car with a 3.5 engine as opposed to the 3.0 "Group B homologated" then surely as Gooding's is a supercar, its a supercar from the past too. The Metro is a best British rallycross car and should of been allowed to compete equally with the rest Or was this because the organisers didnt want to see an "Old car" win Roll on the Superprix I wonder if the organisers try to attract Gronholm there That would be a scoop Pics up later |

Only 400 BHP spare engine accoring to "Larry (On the mike) Carter"
Felt sorry for O'Donovan missing the time out onto the dummy grid by a couple of minutes where as they seemed to wait forever for Don Shannon to come out for a race |
