1996, Williams won a few races that year! It also had my favourite moment of F1, the parade lap to the French GP!

1998,1999,were very thrilling, with long and uncertain battles.
2000 welcomed the return to WDC by Ferrari |

2002. The level of dominance that Ferrari displayed over the others certainly did take back something from that 21 years black period... Of course, I'm very subjective...

1996 for me, although, had Eddie won the WDC in 1999 then my vote might have changed

My absolute favourite was before those years listed!
1994. Bad. Very bad. 1995. Not that bad a year, but not a classic. 1996 was good, but perhaps wasn't too competitive. I liked the person who won it though. 1997 was mostly good. But too many failures robbing Mika of his first win. An, er, interesting end to the year. 1999 had the right winner, but in some ways it was a comedy of errors. 40 odd points lost by the team. 20 stupidly thrown away in Italy and a few deprived by his team mate! 2000. A return to glory for Ferrari. And some good battles. A shame it wasn't a last rounder though, but the McClaren failed a little too much. 2001. How to win a championship. Not too exciting. 2002. How to win a championship 2. The more comprehensive sequel. Saturdays were fun. But I'm afarid it is other. And the other is 1986. There are probably at least a dozen 'others' that beat the years listed. IMHO. This season. Worse than some, better than others. Last edited by Adam43; 26 Mar 2003 at 17:57. |

1997. Four diferents teams winning a race on the same year, what did not happen since 1990... (and it was almost 6, if we consider the Hungarian and Austrian GPs).
Great revelations, like Fisichella and Trulli, great moments and a thrilling end! |

96, well hill won didnt he
99, was good as jordan won a few races, herbert won for stewart (was 99 wasnt it), there was 3 teams regularly winning races, it was good 2003 seems so far like it could be better than all these, lets hope |

96 and 97 were the best of these, with a real variety at the front and thrilling championship battles that went to the last round. Then the grooved tyres and narrow cars were introduced, which lessened the spectacle somewhat. I can see 2003 being even better than any of them though.

Doesn't it seem sad that drivers like Fisichella, Coultard, Barrichello, and Ralf all have secure seats in F1, despite having had race winning cars for many more seasons than Jacques, yet failing to chalk up as many wins as he (let alone a WDC) that it is Jacques who doesn't have a drive in F1??? Sad indeed. |

Right now, this season is my favourite.
1998 is a close 2nd, with 1999 in 3rd. |

Neophytes!
1967 is _the_ classic year! 1976 was another extremely exciting ones... But there are plenty of others which put all these Schumacher-era seasons to shame! |

AdamAShmore, I TOTALLY Agree about what you said regarding Mika's fortunes in 1997, so many people just don't know how high in the championship he could have been if it weren't for BAD LUCK!
My favourite season has to be 1999. although it was extremely frustrating. Mika annialated them all in a form of what Schu has done in 2002, but unfortunately, he did not finish off the task. He was fastest in practice, qualified on pole, and made a terrific start - in the vast majority of the races that year, but he did not finish it off whether it was the team's mistakes, his team mate, or even two of his own. 1997 was a fantastic year. With Schumacher getting the bad name with all his antics at trying to make up for an uncompetitive car. I will not remember 1995 with memories (even though I didn't really watch F1 much then), because of Mika's horrible crash at Adelaide which almost took his life. 1994 was just the year from hell for F1.. 2000 was actually very enjoyable, I did not like the result but it was a fantastic up and down year. 2001 was bad, 2002 was shocking, for more reasons than the obvious. |

Well, all those season listed suck. The reasons I enjoyed them will be listed:
1998 - Mika won the title. Considering I'd supported him since his debut, it had been a darn long wait. 1999 - Mika won the title again! Plus Frentzen scored a couple of good wins and Stewart won, plus Minardi scored a point! 1994-1996 were not too bad as at least the cars could pass each other. 1997 was not as good, but Mika won a race at least. But my favourite seasons are all of the mid 1980s, particularly 1986, 1987 and 1992. Worst seasons were '01 and '02 for obvious reasons - sheer boredom. |

I would have to say 1991 as it was such a seesaw season which included flashes of what could and might be in the future, highlights being for me at least, where when deCesaris was closing in on Ayrton Senna in the belgian grand prix with gearbox malidies for his long awaited GP win which as we all know never would come he lost this one because of a 50p jubilee clip.... also there was senna winning the brazillian gp with a lack of gears and of course the spanish gp what more needs to be said about that, an exceptional race with 2 racers at the peak of their competitive abilities with complete trust in one another racing within inches. ahh those where the days..

1991- Senna vs Mansell.
A great battle, even after Senna's early 4 race winning streak. |

1997 - the most open season in the last 10 years. 4 different teams won, Jordan/Arrows/Prost came close to wins as well and Mika got his first win.

1999 is the best I've seen by far.
From those I haven't seen: 1967, 1968, 1982 (except for Montreal and Zolder of course), 1985, 1986, and 1989. |

1994 had some good racing, but will be mostly remembered for the deaths of Senna and Ratzenberger.
1999 I liked very much, but 1997 is the best. Good racing, many different winners. 1995 wasn't a classic, nor was 1996. They were bad. Last edited by nicker less; 27 Mar 2003 at 11:43. |

1961. It had everything F1 is about, including unfortunately tragedy.
Beautiful cars: Sharknose Ferraris Epic wins: Moss at Monaco and Nurburgring in a year old Cooper Tragedy: Von Trips' death at Monza Excitement: Championship decided at the last race |

1997, Jacques wins the title and Hill shows his true talents in a vastly inferior Arrows.
