stevie,
Thanks for this but there maybe a slight problem!! The Archive has been set up to log/list/add to specific details about particular makes/models of race car. I.E. Group A BMW 635; F3 Reynard 853, GT1 Aston Martin DBR9. With the special saloons they are all really individual/one off cars with the exception of Maguire Mini's and Stilletto's for example, so for a thread like this to be in the Archive it needs to have minimum specific details on a given car like who built it, when, etc rather than a general discussion about 'small special saloons.' Until we are able to log specifics or assumed specifics to be verified etc, it might be better to discuss in this section first then transfer specifics across when we get them. I hope that makes sense and you are ok with that? Cheers chunty Last edited by chunterer; 19 Feb 2009 at 10:17. |

No problem chutny, sorry for posting in the Archive section.Just thought I'd see what smaller special saloons have been around but see your point. As Mr Turner points out, smaller engined car's need their own topic that's all I was trying to do.
The two cars that I posted about do indeed have their own history, the second car is now no more as I stated and the first car of Ginger Marshall is still his. Please feel free to move this topic into the Motorsport History section and next time I'll maybe seek advice before I post anything. Stevie M. |

stevie,
I was thinking that from the info you have (which may well have come from me couple of years ago!! ) you could add the basic build details (year, engine, body etc for the Kitten into your Archive thread? Any subsequent cars that come into there would need to be logged in a simialr format. That way it could stay open? Just a thought. |

Stevie, no need to be too contrite! It's your sort of enthusiasm coupled with the knowledge that helps us build the archive. I'm trying to summon up the effort to have another go at picking suitable posts out of existing threads to feed into the archive!

The Hundred Thousand Society
At the recent Race Car Live event at Brands Hatch some special saloon Imps were on display promoting the above society which advocates racing for pre-1980 1 litre sports and saloon cars.
It would be great if the group were able to establish a race or two. http://www.classicandracing.co.uk/hundredthousand/ |
