European rallycross 2003

It has been announced Eurosport will be showing the 2003 European rallycross championship. A number of televsion deals has been struck so it will be coming to a screen near you.

Also Guttorm Lindefjell has launched his new Opel Astra OPC division 2 car at the Valkensward test day.

The European series in 2003 is going to be one of the best European championships we have ever seen.

Around 13 manufacturers represented in division 1 possibly more.

Citroen, Saab, Ford, Peugeot, Seat, Hyundai, Audi, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Opel, Skoda (new Fabia Wrc), subaru, Volkswagen... what more could you want!!

Division 2 will have lot of maufacturers represented as well.....Peugeot, Opel, Honda, Renault, citroen and more.

Have to try get the Eurosport dates on rallyracing.nl Peter, get a scoop on rallycross.de. Do you know if that includes "British eurosport"?

Yeap i belive it does. It is supposed to be a standalone program i belive as well.

As for the schdeule then i am working on it.....hopefully more soon.

Dont forget the British championship from croft is on men and motors on saturday night at 9pm

ERC on Eurosport, best news since good old Screensport bit the dust!

A lot more stations may have it as well. NRK in Norway have been confirmed, as has SVT in sweden who will work with a belgium firm to transmit 30 minute broadcast. This will probably then be sold. There is going to be a media explosion over the european series as it will be more competitve than ever.

All we need now is British drivers to get there act together and get themselves into Europe!!! Then we may get the round of the ERC back to Croft or Brands.

As for european legal machinery then with turbo restrictors, the following British drivers/cars will be eligible:

Gollops - Ford Focus
Bells - Toyota Corrolla Wrc
Grants - Escort Wrc
Carnegies - Focus
Mundys - Focus
Cross - Focus

and with a little work and the loss of the rear wings so will Mcluskeys, Holfelds and Mannings machines

With McCanns subaru impreza to come hopefully all these drivers will at least do the odd round of the championship will give us british something to chear about. Gollop will do 2 rounds that i know off. Another driver from the British championship plans to do the belgium and holland rounds of the series.

I also wonder if Gollop will give the shape of his Focus a overhaul to make a replica of the New ford Focus Wrc. I thing for the first round of the European series in lousada a few drivers may have this shape.
