Formula Vauxhall Juniors
Is there anywhere I can find information on past FVJ championships, especially 1999 and the last 2000 season. Does anyone know where most of the cars have gone, I heard a rumour of them going to Sweden as school cars! I know there are four in Monoposto, so there must be plenty lying around! They have to be one of the sexiest sounding single seaters ever!

Ah, what a wonderful championship. I particularly enjoyed the Mullen-Burti-Wheldon year myself. '96 I think it was.

Does anyone know if as a club racer they are any cheaper to run than a Formula Ford Kent. Also are they as fun to drive.

Spinner,
The 2000 champion was Robert Huff, now in Renault Clios driving for either John Bintcliffe or Tim Sugden. The 1999 Champ was either Ryan Dalziel or Gary Paffet (probably neither of them actually). |

1996 - Tim Mullen (My dad engineered for Kirkaldy)
1997 - Doug Bell (He engineered for Bell) 1998 - Antonio Pizzonia (He engineered for Scheckter) 1999 - Gary Paffett (Paffet used my dads setups) So anyone who is using a junior I could get you the best setups!! I miss them too the later ones with the 16v engines sounded really good when they drove past. I think they would be a good chassis to use in Formula Four as well. |

A campaign to bring them back would be great! There are only four racing now in the country, all in Monoposto.
Philip House, been racing it since 2000. Richard Barstow, new this year Steven Griffin, ex Alfa racer Jeffery Evans, who competed in them at Jim Russell back in 96. Tony Simpson. I have spoken to Philip House, who ran it since 2000, and he says they are more fun to drive then ffords, and relitively cheap. In two years since an engine rebuild, the car has been run at over 30 race meeting, 25 test sessions, 3 hillclimbs at Harewood and a sprint race. The only thing he has changed is the oil drive belt and a cambelt. Obviously regular filter and oil changes though. SO BRING EM BACK!!! |

no.........you can't go back
let's mention the rockers that break on the kerbs, the outmoded rocker suspension itself, and the older type (less structurally sound and safe) spaceframe chassis |

How strange.. I logged on to post a topic about FVJ.. where have they all gone? there must have been dozens made, and now you just don't see them about.
Cars that I have seen for sale are cheap, I've been told that they're far cheap than FF to run. |

Just found out that 20 of the cars are definitely in sweden and are used as school experience cars. Better than our tired old formula firsts!!
