Johnny Milner is British Champion
Johnny Milner has just taken the british championship - near rival in the championship Justin Dale retired on Stage 2 with engine problems.
Well done Johnny................. This means that two major british motorsport championships have been won by Yorkshire men in the last 6 days - first James Thompson picked up the BTCC and Milner picks up the BRC - well to both of them. |

Yes, I was up there in the Service area when Jonny came back after hearing that Justin Dale was out. Suffice to say that he was very pleased.
I also got to speak to James Thompson, who'se enjoying being BTCC Champ and is looking to continue his rallying next year if schedules allow. It's definitely 'White Rose rules' at the moment. |

How come the 1600 cars get so much more coverage in BRC than the Group A or Group N cars?

young and up coming drivers have to be recognised some how.
I think it is great what they are doing with the 1600 tv footage |

Don't the manufacturers pay for the TV, and all the factory teams are in Super 1600. Still, the outright cars deserve some TV.

The coverage here in the UK gives a pretty much even split between the S1600 and the Group A/N cars.

Ah, I'm just getting second-hand coverage on Motorsport Mundial. But yeah, it does make sense, as 1600 is a much more "professional" class, whereas the more expensive classes have many more gentleman drivers.
"Professional" is almost a dirty word in our championship... We can't even agree on rules with the Canadians. Last edited by Lee Janotta; 7 Oct 2002 at 14:10. |
