Tags/Players
Although Tags left Players at the end of 2002 throughout 2003 it did often seem like Players was just a three car team the way they worked together on track. Am I being dumb and there is one or does Tags & Players still just get on really well.

Players was paying his salary last year, which may have made him feel kindly toward them... but he did have a lot to say about being turfed for PT after being assured he would have the job.

I know that Tracy and Tags were good friends prior to Tracy getting Tag's seat at Players. Publicly he stated that Tags had no hard feelings toward Tracy, but did their friendship die this season? Those of you that are photographers and journalist that attend many of the races might have heard...

I don't think Tags is under contract at Players any more, which might make it harder for him to keep the Rocketsports drive. That'd be a shame, and I hope Paul can find the funding.
I think Tags did help Players at times, remembering that 'Team Players' was written large on the Rocketsports car. |

Johnson Controls is a huge world-wide company and has just declared a dividend, and Paul Gentilozzi is not Dale Coyne. I think Tag's drive is safe.
Personally after the Rocketsports car began to come good, I never heard any complaining from Tags about the Players people. But he cut off all questions about Players when I was there. |

Tags will most certainly remain with Rocketsports, IMO.
He and Gentilozzi have become almost father/son. |

And, bad luck aside, he did an outstanding job in a new team this year. He showed plenty of pace, and if he could have just a little bit of luck next year, he might get that win. He would have taken it at Montreal if the team didn't stuff him up on strategy.

Tag performed his best ever this season. Tags may have had to bring some Players cash to land the ride, but he earned it on merit. I would be surprised if he didn't have the ride for next year.

2 poles and three podiums is best ever, but he scored more championship points last year. Regardless, I completely agree with you, and expect to see him return to Rocketsports next year. He's happy there, they're happy to have him there. And as long as Tags is around in Champ Cars, I'm happy.
