I have a few questions regarding things there? What happened up at Druids when the race was red flagged again? and, has anyone got pics from the day that they can e-mail me. Cheers |

Scott, Mike edgar hit the back of RMR so i tried to avoid on the outside but not so lucky RMR's spinning car caught my rear wheel and spun me into the gravel and i assume the rest hit the gravel to avoid £

Welcome to Ten Tenths Athgoe. I think we managed to exchange a few words before they put your car on the recovery vehicle?
Stephen. |

I didn't I'm afraid. Just as a matter of interest, marshals are not allowed to have cameras on post.

I must admit, when my car got damaged and I was not allowed to continue racing (for saftey reason I was told Hmmm) I REALLY appriciated the marshalls, pointing and laughing at the damage saying "ooooh thats gonna gost" and waving and playing with my on board camera in the car when I wasn't there (surly they must have known I'd have seen them when I watched the footage).
I appriciate racing can't run without the Marshalls and you do it for free and %99 of the time provide an amazing level of support, but when a competator pays a lot of money to race, get minor damage and told he isn't allowed to continue (later apologiesd to about this as they agreed it was wrong) I find marshalls laughing about it, and playing with my car when I am not there just terrible. Rest assured a copy of their faces (don't know their names) will be sent to the BRSCC with a nice letter. So even though Marshalls arn't allowed camera's they seem to not mind playing with mine |

I agree with you, it shouldn't have happened. It is not only unprofessional but it may have caused damage to your car or camera. If I were you I too would be writing to the BRSCC.

darcym,
I had similar at combe with an on board. I have been told since that camera's on the car are badluck. after hearing about you im starting to agree with the superstition! Athgoe, sorry about that, not much i could of done there. the rest hit the gravel as there was no where to go. could of been a lot worse. also where did all the marshals come from? there seemed to be dozens! |

All hands to the pump as they say There were probably around 6 marshals on Post 5 and 4 marshals on post 6. All that orange together must have put a strain on your eyes

Darcym,
I was marshalling at post 5 (Druids) and I don't recall anything of the kind of behaviour you describe. Was this at Druids? Where ever it happened, this is shocking and I totally agree with Stephen's comments. |

Frank I think this refers to an incident elsewhere on the circuit, not at Druids.

Darcym, I agree with both Stephen & Dutchie - thoroughly unprofessional behaviour by the marshals involved, name and shame (well, inform/complain to the club chiefs at least).
A point for training day methinks - or a video nasty Any of my team, wherever I am, fooling around with a driver's car, laughing at someones misfortune or acting like ********s in front of the on board camera would get a severe *******ing (at least). Frank, darcym came to a stop on lap 12 in heat 1 of the King of Kents, don't think it was Paddock gravel trap - usually there's no discussion involved - when you're in at 4a you stay. |

Pit lane exit or entrance Darcym? The exit would be post 2 and the entrance would be post 24 for your guide.

I would still endorse the no names on this (very) public board, but we must be making those involved sweat a bit. |

no names mentioned on this board at all.
They know who they are, if they don't they'll find out when they get the messages. All the marshalls do a great job even the ones messing around, yet this incident got my back up a little. |

PS, I am not trying to make any trouble for those involved, just on a day when £££££ has been spent, you have just been stopped racing because of a bad call, messing around with the camera on the car and making gestures and gags may not be the best thing to do, and as someone said above perhaps worth pointing out on a training day.
