According to Rob Bain he is in coverse with several other makes for next year, but which make is most likely to enter in your opinion.

Mine is VW, they showed interest a year or so ago before all the rules went all to cock, and pulled out at the last minute.

Although I think VW is the most likely i would like to see BMW back if i had a choice.

Ford Renault Honda, doubtful, after leaving so soon, they don't want to look stupid by just jumping back in, although if they do come back they are MORE than welcome, (the sound of silence where a full grid should be)

You won't see Ford in 2002 but I will confidently predict that Volvo will be there!

Ford won't compete against Volvo now they are the same company.

I think you'll find that adds up to three manufacturers not two vauxhall.

Why so sure, Rik?

As you know, Ford have a fantastic heritage in the BTTC, right back to the heady days of the Cortinas and Galaxies of the sixties.

I know Ford-owned Volvo were successful in recent ST terms, but I would assume that Ford (as 'Ford') would want to spar with traditional market partners, Vauxhall.

And I would have thought the next 'RS' badged Cosworth-Focus would be perfect for a 2002 assault.

Just an opinion, mind.

But why compete with a car in two different places? Ford Focus RS WRC is used in rallying.

Can't argue with that - a point I've made myself in the past when the 'hatch' format was suggested.

I just think it's a shame that Ford won't participate as 'Ford' - but as Volvo.

VW with the Bora or Audi with the A3.

Honda with the Civic.

Volvo with the new S60?

I have heard that it will be Renault with the new Laguna and Ford (new Mondeo), VW are still thinking about it with the Bora.
