P.J. Jones hired to replace Jacques Lazier
John Menard has announced that P.J. Jones will drive in place of Jacques Lazier while the injured driver heals.
Because of P.J.'s 59 CART starts, he will be exempt from the Indianapolis "Rookie Test" P.J. has also raced in NASCAR Busch, USAC and IMSA in addition to CART. This will be his first outing in an IRL car. He is the son of Parnelli Jones, the winner of the 1963 Indy 500. |

To me, this is great news! PJ never got the chance in CART to strut his stuff, driving for Dan Gurney. I hope he can take this opportunity and make the most of it.

well at least they put a very talented driver in the seat , PJ is a very good driver and hopefully he will do a good job.
he has heaps of experience and is pretty quick so i think he should do well |

Patrick Racing didn't give PJ a chance. He was more concerned with Fernandez.
This should be good for PJ. I just hope Memo gets to show what he can do in the Indy 500 with a good team. |
