Chevy DQ
I feel I must express my disgust at the actions of Chevolette during the Le Mans 24hour this weekend. How dare they ruin the race and destroy the whole point of the race. What am I talking about? with around an hour and a half left the team pulled both cars into the garage for an hour so they could clean the cars and take some photos. The nearest cars were falling out so they stayed there for an hour. This is bad for the sport and I feel they should be excluded from the race. Did Audi , Bentley , Chysler , Porsche stay in the garage for any reason but than for a pit stop ? No! So why did corvette do it? they did the same thing at Daytona! Appauling! It is totally against the point of the 24 hour race. i feel that this shouldn't be allowed to happen with a penalty to the offeneders. This sort of action is bad for the sport!

In fairness to Chevy, one of the cars actually did have a problem that required a pitstop. The sole Viper was light years behind and so understanderable not to take a risk of a clean sweep with a silly mistake. Not sportmanlike but they had met the Saleems head to head and outrun them and all but one Viper. It was not as if they had sat back and cruised around for 20 hours waiting to pick up the dregs after all.

no worse than doing a formation lap to the checkers, imho. the more you're on the track, the more chance some freak thing will happen, a part will break or you'll get caught up in a wreck, it's wise to sit in the garage if you can afford to

Pink, I've got to vote against ya...I know what you mean, but Bowtie ain't in it to take risks and show how much they can win by. They got the lead they did and took advantage of it too save the cars to insure victory. Would it be more exciting if their pace hadn't been as quick to buld said lead? Of course. They're not in it to put on a show, tho'. They're in it to win so they can justify their expense and so they did.
No, I don't "like" it, but I would sure as hell do the same thing. Penalty for not giving you the show you want? Pulleezze. |

Whilst sitting in your pits waiting for the end of the race is a bit boring, there's nothing you can do to stop it. The teams concerned can just pretend they have a problem at have their pitcrew look busy.
