Sarrazin to test for Toyota?

read on Verstappen.nl

"French sources thnk that F3000 driver Stephane Sarrazin has a good chance to get a job as Toyota testdriver. Australian Ryan Briscoe is admittedly the protegee of Toyta but has no F1 experience and has to watch from the sideline for a while. Sarrazin has only done one Grand PRix when he replaced Luca Badoer in 1999 at Minardi for the Brazilian Grand Prix. In 1998 he was a testdriver for Prost Grand Prix"

Anyone seen more about this?

Sarrazin could even make it as an F3k driver!

Why would Toyota want him?

A strange choice as test driver, given his lack of F1 experience, having said that his one race was a good one - outqualified Gene by 3 places, and was 11th when his front wing broke.

No questionmark anymore

Toyota has today revealed that Frenchman Stéphane Sarrazin and Australian Ryan Briscoe will be its test drivers for the 2002 season. The team used the occasion of the annual Toyota motorsports press conference in Tokyo to announce the news.

27-year-old Sarrazin is no stranger to Formula 1, having driven one race for Minardi in 1999 and subsequently as test driver for Prost Grand Prix, a position he held until 2001.

"I am really happy to be given the opportunity to test drive for the Toyota team," said Stéphane. "It is not only a big step for me personally but also a huge boost for my career, and I can't wait to get started."
