You'll enjoy it. The Gurston lot, marshals and drivers, are a friendly bunch. Chief Marshal will be Alan Osgood, AKA Grumpy Git. He'll take you in hand, give you a tour of the hill and then put you with some experienced GITs.
Oh, and welcome to Gurston. |

Trust me you'll love it. The friendliest venue in the country, and you'll want to go back again.

When you get there, don't turn right into the public car park. Go straight on through the farmyard, a little bit right, then left. Just after the paddock marshal's hut, turn left uphill and you will see marshal's sign-on to the left of the restaurant. If you look on Google Earth, marshal's sign-on isn't there, but the restaurant is the building furthest from the entrance. As has been said, you will be taken to the top of the hill, spend 20 minutes or so at each post, gradually walking down to the bottom and then in the afternoon, you will go onto the post either at Ashes, or Carousel.

You'll come across the term GIT a lot, which of course stands for Gurston Incident Team and all the main players have been awarded one (they don't get to choose when or what),
Enjoy |

Fabulous venue, lovely people. It's a bit far for me, so haven't been for a while, but definitely recommend it to anyone.

Fond memories of back in the nineties; one of those zany southwest hills with a downhill start
