Larry selling?

I've read that Larry has threatened selling up because of Avesco/Tega's rules concerning franchise numbers and testing.
Just thinking about this a bit, is there a loophole in the rules that could be exploited? For arguments sake, say Larry sells up his franchise and raceteam, and becomes a specialised race-car builder, is he subject to test-bans like established teams, or can he test as much as he wants?

HDTVKSS should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The way i understand it, testing relies on 10 having a franchise 2) a racecar registered as a V8 supercar. without both of these, i cant see how he could go testing other than byt building a car and never registering it as a SC? expensive operation

personly i think he is all talk, Cant see Castrol being real happy bout that, im sure Larry will stay where he is. he knew the rules before he bought the extra franchises.

Larry did not buy the extra franchises HDTVKSS. Don't know where you got that from.
One franchise is owned by Rod Nash the other by Paul Little.

The #7 car and the #75 are technically customer cars guys. As far as I know the problems LP was having with testing rules have been sorted. The only Castrol Perkins Motorsport cars are #8 and #11. If you look closly the #7 is run under Castrol Formula R Racing, not Castrol Perkins Motorsport. #75 is still Toll Racing/Paul Little Racing, a Perkins Engineering customer car.

Larry has no reason to sell!

The only problem would be that you wouldnt be able to buy the correct tyres to do any testing on, or at least you shouldnt be able to

You could build a car in your backyard, buy and old, or even new car from someone and drive it whenever you like provided you arent a franchise holder, or doing it on AVESCO tyres.

This is motor racing, its all expensive!

Surely Dumbrell racing the Rod Nash VY and Longhurst the Perkins Motorsport VX at Eastern Creek, would prove that all 3 Castrol cars are being run as one operation. Anyone know the reason for the swap, was it a demotion for Longhurst after his practice shunt at Adelaide?

Is this issue significantly different from that which concerned KMart Racing & HRT a handful of years ago and the degrees of separation between the various "teams" (or lack of it)?

thanks for the corrections there guys i was under the impression that Larry had aquired the other 2 franchises.

I still dont think he would sell them, but starting conspiracy theory #13456723 a team Castrol Richards prepared by Perkins doesnt sound too bad Does it?

Well this is the rumor.

GTR being the font of all knowledge when it comes to acquisition of V8 teams and Licences, I thought he might be able to shed some light on the subject.

Isnt there a time limit between when you buy to when you can sell?

Lowndes is a resilient person. I don't think he'd have a problem changing team but some consistency would help. But, then again, how many times did he change teams or rather, how many times did the team change around him at Gibson/00...

Well Larko doesnt currently have the facilities to run 4 cars, perhaps with Mr Gore's millions it becomes more possible, and advantageous if it extends to an SBR engine program, but its still a little to unreal to be real for now

I would have thought the SBR/Larkham/Gore concept to be a long way off the mark!

At least you have two things right: a QLD team, and Lowndes migrating...but that's south.
