Roger Albert Clark Rally 2005

I was talking to the people behind the Roger Albert Clark Rally at the Autosport Show and they confirmed to me that the event will be back in 2005. The event will take place from 19th-22nd November. The event will cover about 220 stage miles which up on last year.

I also understand that the last years winner Stig Blomqvist will be back and there are rummours that some other big names will be out again.

It was a great event last year, roll on November I can't wait.

imull has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Stigs navigator (via David Sutton) has put up 50K for it by stage 4 this year.

Will be back out there marshalling, unless my numbers come up and then I will be spectating from the bottom of the first big ditch lol

Quick update on thie one, the rally will again be taking place in November.

The route is still under raps at the momment but the stage mileage has increased to around 220 miles. There are more stage miles on the Sunday this year including mileage in the Lake District and the long run out to Kielder on the Sunday evening has been dropped. There is also a rummour that they will running a stage inside The Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield

Entries are already starting come and one car stands out for me Lancia Stratos, it will be driven by Steve Perez.

It was a cracker last year and this years event looks like it going to bigger and better.

The missing stages have now confirmed. The cars tackle Bramham Park, which is just of the A1 and hasn't been used for 20 years.

Well that's decided it, looks to be a good entry over classic stages! Maps and B&B books out and ready.

The latest entry list I have seen has one Stig Blomqvist in an Escort, but the car I am looking forward to seeing most is Steve Perez's Lancia Stratos I have just been telling my Dad, he can remember it back in it hayday and he can't wait to see that car again. I understand there are still a few big names to be added.....

Word has just reached me that Jimmy McRae will drive a Porsche 911 and from what I have just seen on another forum there is a possiblity that there might at least 1 one other McRae on the entry and if we are really lucky there might be 2......

Just a quick note, if anyone is going to Croft on Sunday the cars will arrive 12:15, not the time mentioned above. The Graystoke stage will now run at 14:51, Castle O'er at 17:45 and Twiglees at 18:05

Alan Green should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Frosty mornings, glorious sunshine, woolly hats & sunglasses, classic RAC weather

Now I have a sensible runaround car I've added start/finish controls at Carlisle to my list, so the plan now is:
Sat: Sheffield x2, Sun: Croft x2, Mon: Carlisle start & finish (main rally+clubmans), Tue: Croft x2

Looking forward to an excellent event.
Al.
