How many Rafanelli Ferrari 550?
Who knows how many cars is Rafanelli thinking to enter in ALMS? Two cars from Olive Garden / Rafanelli? or only one??

I've seen 2 rumoured. (It's been suggested that, with 2 Prodrive, 2 Rafanelli, and 2 others, that 6 550 GTS are not out of the question for next year.)

On the IMSA homepage, there is a story about the car that was campaigned by Prodrive last year. It is owned by Frederic Dor, not Prodrive.
Dor, who is French but is based in Switzerland, indicated that he is having "well-advanced" discussions with several racing teams, including Prodrive, to race his Maranellos in various championships in 2003. He is actively seeking sponsorship for the American Le Mans Series effort. Which basically confirms what I have heard in the past, that without sponsorship, this won't happen for the ALMS. Now whether Prodrive themselves campaign either this car, or one on their own, is impossible to say for sure, but I do think it is important to clarify that, while they ran in 02', is was by being paid by a car owner to do so. As far as the Raffi question, not sure, I sent a request off to Olive Garden to solicit a response... I'll be back when and if I get an answer. Also the XL GT 550 is a big question mark, as without sponsorship it isn't likely to be a full season car either. |

Nah I dont think 6 is too many. Going off the subject slightly has anyone heard if the penalties have been lifted for the Saleen S7R? The last I heard is they had a 15% smaller restrictor and 20kg of ballast.

Maybe I'm right maybe I'm wrong I look out the window and see the grounds over my head and Saleen searching the reasons for too many Ferrari 550 maranello. So my head's not upside down If you could give me that something that reason. I see a Ferrari fan crying As a baby comes down
As I'm dreaming alone near the darknest power of motorsports- the rumours!! |
