After watching the highlights video from 1988, Hill Donnelly and al (plus Scott Stringfellow!!) getting stuffed by JJ Lehto... with grids of over 40 cars...

How many entries will there be for next year?? And how many really gunning for the championship??

This is the latest PowerTour press release:

15 December 2000

For immediate release (ref: PT01/003)

PowerTour gears up for bumper season

The 2001 PowerTour British motorsport series is set to enjoy bumper entries if current expectations are realised. Interest is running at a record level in both the Green Flag British F3 and Privilege Insurance British GT Championships with each championship expected to field over 30 cars at each event.

The Championship Class of the British F3 series is set for a cracking season with a host of talented young drivers finalising plans for Britain's top single-seater series. The number of cars for the Scholarship Class is already into double figures, with more expected.

The British GT Championship is also booming. In the GT category, Lister, Marcos, TVR, Saleen, Porsche, Lotus, Chrysler Viper, Ferrari and Ultima will all be in action. In the GTO category, as many as 10 Porsche 911GT3Rs will take on the stunning new TVR Tuscan R as well as cars from Marcos, Ferrari and Chrysler Viper, while several other marques could also join the fray.

The six PowerTour championships along with the guest races are expected to draw around 250 cars to each show, 200 of them in the six permanent championships. Each PowerTour paddock will feature more than 70 articulated trailers, making it a massive travelling motorsport show.

"We are very excited about the response from competitors for PowerTour in 2001. We appreciate just how hard the teams and drivers are working on their plans. It is going to be quite a show!" says Roger Etcell, BMP series director.
