Ok, picture this. Someone with pockets bursting with money comes up to you and asks you to run a V8 Supercar team for him- money is no object.
1. You can have any driver. 2. You can have a ford or a holden. 3. You choose where your team is based, and your test tracks. (Under V8 rules, you may choose two in the state in which you are based.) Who would you choose? Which marque has more potential?? GO MAD PEOPLE! |

TOO EASY!!
DRIVER : Glenn Seton CAR : Ford, of course ... no question! MY TEAM would be based either here in the Blue Mountains, where I live, or maybe Penrith ... it's close enough to home AND all the services I may need! I would like for my test tracks to be Bathurst and Oran Park... if Bathurst is an actually possibility ... otherwise Oran Park and Eastern Creek ... ahhhhh, that would be cool as!! when is this gonna happen, Crash Test?? |

Good one Crash, but it depends on a few things - If the owner wants to win - nothing else:
Car : Ford Driver 1 : Craig Lowndes Driver 2 : Paul Radisich Driver 3 : Mark Skaiff I know, 3 drivers - but you said unlimited funds If it was just a case of picking driver's I liked: Car 1 : Peter Brock - Holden (think of the merchandising) Car 2 : Jim Richards - Holden Car 3 : Craig Lownes - Ford Car 4 : John Bowe - Ford and if I can have one more : Possom Bourne - WRX (to cover the wet races) - Its fantasy is'nt it Must base all teams here in Vic - Phillip Island & Winton |

Piece of Cake.
I'd get Nissan to build a V8 Skyline and run that. Drivers; Paul Radisich Craig Lowndes James Thompson Matt Neal and for the enduros i'd get Tommi Makinen, Mika Hakkinen, Kimi Raikkonen and David Coulthard. I'd run the team in Blacktown, about 10 mins from my place. And i'd test @ Eastern Creek, and Bathurst. |

ohh very hard.
I would choose a Holden but with a Ford as a back up car just incase they start to win races on a regular basis drivers 1. Martin Brundle (gotta be good in a V8) 2.Craig Lowndes (simply the best) Base the team here in my home town of Albuey ..(reasonably central) test tracks would be Winton and Phillip Island..winton for handling PI for high speed handling. for the enduro's i would put Brundle and Lowndes in one car and get young guy's from F holden like....Rick kelly and Christian Murchison to run the other car to gain experience. and if brundle wont drive the car the choice would be mark Webber colour scheme ...would be flurecent green ..to blind other drivers ..hehehe. and big kev (himself) would be my transporter |

Money no object? Well, gimme Juan Pablo Montoya and Craig Lowndes - just to show where Clowndes ranks in the scheme of things again. Kinda like F3000, 1997 vintage!!

Colour scheme (most important thing first)
Dark metalic purple, with fluro orange trim. Car One of those new Jaguars (not F1 Jag)...Barry Jameson is building one for sport sedans...it'll look sweet Drivers Clowndes Wakefield Base QLD- at Darlington Park (what a track!!) and use either QR or Lakeside, or failing that, build my own test track. Endurance Pairings Clowndes/Wakefield (win Bathurst by 25 laps) Brock/Johnson (seniors, some how use time travel to bring them back from 1984) |

Good luck getting Amaroo back cause i think it's an old folks home now.
As 4 Johnson and Brock driving together, i don't think u'll get Johnson cause he'll be too busy running DJR, and i heard that Brock is starting a team as well |

Thomo fan- Brock was only going to start up a team to make sure Clowndes wasn't going to defect over to Ford...so much for that
As for Amaroo- my time machine (since money is no object) which will bring Brock and Johnson back frmo their prime, will also bring Amaroo back |

Crash,
Are you too young to have seen the glory of the great man? Why have Johnson, who started driving Toranas, when you could have Moffat! |

Also showing how deluded thompson_fan is, supporting Thompson in the first place, he supports Toronto. Spurs all the way, Sir... Oh and if you're all going back in time, I'll move my team across to Ford and select a Texaco Sierra. Driven by Steve Soper and DJ. Howzat?! |

Okay well:
Car: Ford AU2. (I have no loyalties, I am going to be using Steven Ellery's engine builder) Drivers: Mark Skaife, and would give myself a drive in the second car. Only because I couldn't stand sitting back and watching Skaifey having all the fun. Test Track: Phillip Island!!!! Is there a better track for driver training, as well as putting the car through a real workout? I haven't come across one. Base: Well we would base our team in Victoria, probably out of a massive shed in the Braeside area. Down near Larry (Moorabbin), and the Dandenong based teams. Sponsors: Well seeing as my current Sponsor is Forty Winks, and my Dad is the director of Finance for the company. I would have to continue with their support. Also a large transport company, maybe someone like a Fox, or Cameron backing. Toll is already taken unfortunately. Paint Scheme: Seeing as Forty Winks would be my major sponsor, I would have to make the cars blue, with yellow stars all over them. Subsiduaries: I would also run a car in Formula Ford, and Formula Holden, to groom young drivers for my team, and for huge merchandising drives in the future. I may even run a sports sedan and a Nations Cup car, just to make sure my sponsors were getting enough coverage. and also to make sure I can choose from the best drivers in the country. From all categories. |

Well the ultimate team has already existed.
Jim Richards, Mark Skaife, Nissan Skyline GT-R, Gibson Motorsport. The Nissan colours looked much better than the Winfield ones too so keep that paint scheme. |

AMoffat:
Johnson 5 ATCC Titles Moffat 4 ATCC Titles Vandas: Bathurst is a much better venue than Phillip Island, u get every kind of corner and wheather condition so the drivers u train there will be more likely to win races on the easyier circuits like the Qld Raceway |

Yes I agree that Bathurst seems an awesome track, and would be an interesting test track. But I am looking at overall facilities and track condition, as well as relative closeness to my base. Which is Victoria, if you scroll up.
If you have ever driver Phillip Island you will understand why it is rated as one of the best tracks in the world. The screaming sweepers, the strange sensations as you soar over Lukey, and the sheer terror as you try and flatten it through turn 1. It is very much a drivers circuit where smoothness is really rewarded. |
