my car okay for track day?
im thinking of doing a track day my car is roadworthy with tax, mot etc - but it is leaking some oil, do the snetterton people check over vehicles first and would this be something they wouldnt let the car on circuit for?

I don't know how Snet do this kind of thing. What I do know is you won't make many friends taking a car you knew to be dropping oil onto a track.

Trust me, we can always find something to do. Your kind offer of extra entertainment is respectfully refused
As Tim points out, there's no more sure fire way to find out whether or not a car has an "about to go bang" kinda fault, than taking it on a track day. Not to mention, if you want to go gawp and snigger at people as they realise that spending £300 on maintenance would have been better than the £2000 repair bill they now have , Track days are a fantastic value day out. |

thats what i was thinking the snetterton ones in march are only £80 for half a day with free helmet hire!!
my cars worth about £250 which is why i havent had the engine sorted, might still be able to make the march date with a newer car |

hi again,
i've now bought a newer non leaking car, my dad (and i) are going to check all the mechanics etc, and im looking to do the novice day at brands on the 14th March my only query is the noise limits, the regulations state a maxiumum of 105db. My new car has got one of those louder exhausts fitted, is it likely that it'll be near the limit? i just checked with an mot place and they cant check it as an mot has no exact amount they just check to see if its 'excessively noisy' |

105, thats fairly loud, if you can drive down the high street with out old people looking at you youre probably ok, It may be worth bringing an add on baffle with you, I don't know if they sell them at the circuit, they do at combe, just incase!
