Not as much Castrol signage on it as I thought there would be...

AA also had a small part in it about Bruce Ellery in the SER 2005 plans, AA beleives he has rubber stamped the decision not to run in the main series. This means two things I reckon: The L2 SER licence will be sold to LP and SER will purchase a L3 for the developmental series to run Mark Porter in Hydraulink colours next to Gary McDonald.

What to you all think?

The car looks good.

My hor rip is that those two cars will be at the top of the field of the development series. THey are both good driver and with SER behind them it should be a great season ahead of them.

Wow, what a sharp looking car. Based on the substantial contribution of a non-oil company supplier, it is fair to say that the smaller signage is not necessarily proportionate by any shake of the imagination.

In fact, just three of the supplier sponsors on this car could nearly have sponsored one whole car between them. It must be a powerful retail channel for them.

This does however make a mockery of SpeedSport "inside" story that this whole deal was to be announced at the opening of SuperCheap's 51st New Zealand store - a strong Murphy link.
Of course, with the number of stores that SuperCheap have in NZ, it is fair to say that the announcement wouldn't have been able to have been made until well after Bathurst

I prefered the SER version of the livery from last year. Again I think too much black.

I've never noticed on other cars before (never really looked I guess) but there are three exit pipes for the exhaust. Hows that work on a V8?

I think it's just for the look or for back pressure at a wild guess... Aren't the end plates on the muffler box removeable, so that the amount of sound deadener (ie steel wool or somesuch) can be vaired, depending on how the cars read on the noisemeter?

I like it, a black base colour makes a nice change from white.

It may sound like a funny thing to say, but it doesn't look fast.

To the untrained eye (mine), it appears to still be a VY. Is there any difference other than cosmetic at this stage between the VY & VZ ??

If there isnt why not make it look like a VZ ?

It's an EX-HRT car they have run this configuration since 2000 IIRC, I think it was done to help reduce heat created from the exhaust. A factor that was discovered in Adelaide in 1999

Looks groovy, by far the best Supercheap autos paint scheme ever! And great to see the absence of that Chandlers logo on the bonnet designed by an 11yo learning to use microsoft word....

The team used a VY for the launch and will use a VZ for the start of the season or will change to a VZ in the first three races im told. I think you will find the VY and VZ is the same other than little changes like lights, bonnet, front bumper etc.

I thought it looked kinda like the Winterbottom AU from 2003....

It is a very striking design, in the flesh, the colour red seems bright enough to get picked up by the teev coverage

Nice looking car, the front is a bit similar to the Ingall car from 2003 with different colours.

Could someone explain why the hefty PWR and HSV branding on the front and rear wing?

Maybe sometime soon the Supercheap logo is going to be more prominant at the front of the car, like how the Orrcon logo eventually made it's way from the splitter to the bonnet at the front of the LMS cars.

It's interesting how you say that suppliers with small stickers funded the deal.

Interestingly, they announced at the launch that a Holden design bod was responsible for the design
