Arild Martinsen:Talbot Lotus Turbo 4x4

Looking for some info specifically on the Talbot Sunbeam Lotus Turbo 4x4 run by Arild Martinsen in 1985. According to Murray Walker on the video of the European Championship round at Lydden, it was running an Xtrac system just like Uncle Martin's but he does not say anything about the engine. Anyone remember any technical details about this car?

I did now know about the Xtrac system.

I am rather amazed if that is the case, but Arild certianly used an Xtrac system on tyhe BMW, so perhaps he simply transferred it over?

the engine I suspect was the Lotus unit turbocharged, he used the car for a few years and it was pretty quick.

Dagfin Larsen also used a Renault 8 at the same time that was fearsomely quick, that had 4wd and turbo and got into top 10 in some ERC events.

Dagfinn Larsen's car was a four-wheel driven Talbot Rallye 2, no Renault 8.

Same sort of thing? Try to tell that to Renault 8 and Simca/Talbot Rallye 2 owners.

I had a interest in buying this car 1982-83 the problem it had was breaking the gearbox .And speaking to Mike Endean (gartrac) he was confident that with his system it wouldn't break any more. But on adding up the total cost I didn't move any further with the project. A shame but I was about 20K short.

Mike Endean was Xtrac, not Gartrac.
And it must have been 1986-87 I guess.
In 1986 Martinsen still had the Talbot Lotus, in 1987 the BMW M3.
