The Sepang thread
I know it's a bit early to start this, but my excuse is that it's been so long since the last round!
Early news is that Oliver Jarvis will drive for Team GBR - story here, whilst Michael Ammermüller will return for Team Germany - story here. It's always interesting to see the A1GP cars on a pukka F1 circuit and there are plenty of opportunities to overtake, so it should be another good meeting. |

Someone remind me to open the predictions thread on Thursday, I keep forgetting that it's now less than 2 weeks away

The Sprint race from Sepang in season 1 was still the most exciting race in A1GP history in my opinion. France were third but had amazing side by side scraps with both GBR and SUI for corner after corner before winning it on the last lap.

Yeah remember that one well!
Showed it to a couple of friends who are very sceptacle with regard to modern Single Seaters ability to provide good close wheel to wheel racing and they loved it !! |

So, by my calculations, the Sprint race is at 11:00 PM Saturday and the Feature race is 3:00 AM Sunday (Atlantic Time).

I dunno Red Bull, still trying to figure-out the scoring system in NASCAR. I guess if we lived in Greenwich, then we'd know the racing's always on at zero. Does this time and date thing help confirm your arithmetic?
Entry list from A1GP.com. Makes for a lousy graphic but thought I'd put it out there anyway. Nary a nominee from the USA, looks a little conspicuous. Are they not making the trip? Driver Entry List A1GP Sepang, Malaysia RD 3: AUS: Dyk / Martin BRA: Jimenez CAN: Wickens CHN: Cheng / Lee CZE: Janis FRA: Duval / Prost GER: Ammermuller GBR: Jarvis IND: Karthikeyan / Sureshwaren INA: Hermanto IRL: Carroll ITA: Toccacelo / Piscopo LEB: TBA MAL: Yoong / Lim MEX: Jourdain Jr NED: Bleekemolen / Luyendyk NZL: Reid / Bamber PAK: Khan POR: Urbano RSA: Zaugg / Orr SUI: Jani / Frey USA: TBA |

And, yes, what's going on with the US? I hope they're not having problems. Last edited by Red Bulldog; 20 Nov 2007 at 15:43. |

good move in my opinion. Summerton showed real potential at the end of last season and Buddy Rice has been pretty hopeless.

Found an event schedule here (below the cheesy ad). Asian F3's one of the support races, could be good. Don't know if anyone else was interested but the practice sessions are shown at 1100 and 1400 local time on Friday. |

Does not look like the circuit has live timing, hopefully the official A1GP live timing will be working ok this time.

Oliver Jarvis, fresh from winning the Macau Grand Prix, was fastest with 1:49s. This is 2 seconds faster than last year. It seems the A1GP cars are getting faster and faster.

Nice not to have scroll down to see your teams result.
Cos, any live video stream rabbits in your hat this race? It's not looking very good on the website - although live timing worked, I'll give them that. |

Oliver Jarvis looks to carrying on from where he left off in Macau last weekend, although he was only driver from the front-running teams to have the advantage of running in the rookie sessions as well.
During the week he also found time to have a Formula Nippon test in Japan. |
