I did mean to post in this thread, it was all this talk of pre-war motorcars brought a blast from the past into my little brain...

I remember reading Gumdrop to my kids in the mid 1970's!! I must confess to preferring Thomas the Tank engine though

I used to love Gumdrop, adn yes you are right, this was my first intrduction into cars.

I was utterly captivated by it aswell, had loads of books, me and mum used to search for them in the library when i was about 7!!
