I was barracking for the DoDo team... but good to see HRT hit form... even though they've won the most rounds this year, it doesn't seem like it!
PS Not often I'll admit to supporting DoDos. |

Wow, this thread is pretty empty!
Great job by Skaife & Kelly to avoid incident today! And nicely placed in terms of the championship now to attack the SBR drivers. |

it was a great effort by the team to bring a largely unmarked car across the line for the win |

Wow! A positive thread!
I too was cheering for the flying Dodo, and I thought Jamie and Jason drove a brilliant race. But kudos to HRT. They hung around in the shadows all day and I thought Tasman had a real chance to get them at the last restart, but Skaife just pulled away. I've also got to mention Ellery. Ordinary start to the season, but the 88 car is both improving rapidly and invisible to the camera. |

and what a race to win, that one should go down as one of the most epic.
Make preferance aside, winning that particular race was a feat in itself. Well done HRT (there you go Monaro, I'm a Ford Fan.) |

Great driving from Todd Kelly to keep out of trouble all day and a really good hard clean gritty pressure drive by Skaife to bring it home in the end from the very fast Jason Richards.

Yeah, very well done by the HRT boys. Stayed out of trouble and got on with the job of driving quickly and consistently all day. Was barely a scratch on the car at the end of the race.
Huge wrap to the Dodo Racing guys too - thoroughly well deserved. 3rd at Sandown, 2nd at Bathurst ....... 1st at Indy???? And also, Ellery and Macrow who snuck under the radar for 3rd. A very solid and composed race from the less glamorous Triple 8 car. |

Great Point Skaifeys Gal, It just go's to show how well Andy Jones can drive when he is given a decent car. Memo to Garry Rogers:- Please give Andy a decent car for the last 3 races, and let him grow to his full potential as a racer in 2006. |

Welcome to the exalted list of Great Race winners, Todd Kelly! Congratulations on a well-metered run: HRT showed the field how to run a race in a competitive (but arguably not the best) car, how to stay out of trouble, how to bring home the biggest race of the year. Congrat's also to Team Tasman, who thoroughly deserved their great 2nd place, and to Ellery for saving some Ford face. There you go Monaro, that didn't hurt too much! |

I'm personally not a fan of HRT, but after that race, they were deserving winners, actually, I think the entire top 10 deserve a pat on the back after such a race of attrition! It reminded me of Bathurst enduros of 10-20 years ago!
Massive rap to Tasman, that would've been a fairytale win! Great to see different faces both on the podium & the top ten! |

I have waited so very long for Skaifey to return to the round winner's circle, and for him to finally break the 2 year drought at Bathurst is just a dream come true. I was very nervous for the last ten laps, and at the last restart. Also congratulations to Todd Kelly, I don't think it was easy for him, the car seemed to suit Mark better, so Todd did a fantastic job to keep it on track and out front. What a birthday present for him! Todd is also very well placed in the points standings now should the SBR drivers falter.
