British GT: Brands Hatch, Rounds 6/7
Well it looks like there is another strong entry for this weekends British GT, personally I will be cheering on the Team Modena car and the Brookspeed viper. It is worth noting too that this weekends race is taking place on the full GP layout rather than the indy circuit, something which can only be a good thing. IMO. Entry list.

The GP section should really suit the vipers so I'd expect to see them right up there. Having witnessed the spectacular Moore Racing drive at Snetterton, I think they are going to be very hungry. We could quite possibly see a viper crew on the podium this weekend, especially with the Mosler having been restricted heavily. They won't be running away this weekend. |

I don't think there was ever much of a chance of the Mosler running away and hiding. It just performed well at the last round (and the Coles are really improving as drivers at this level) and I find the universality of these SRO adjustments when the tyres involved are different to be a tad counterproductive. We haven't seen the Gallardos heavily punished yet, and there was one of those on pole at the Belcar Zolder round and one which set the fastest lap at the last Brit meet. So, why Mosler?
I think that it is going to be a cracking race, but the one thing that bothers me about any equivalency formula like this is the amount of whinging that goes on whenever someone wins (which happens every race!) because clearly they had an unfair rules advantage. Which is true sometimes, and not other times. |

The equivalency measures have come in with immediate effect, right? The Rollcentre car was fastest and Coles top 6 in first practice (thats from memory, could be well wrong) Looks like they could still be quite strong

Definitely good news. Hopefully they won't be working their tyres overly hard to get that pace (or the car won't be sliding around too much with the higher ride height) so they can maintain a competitive race pace.

But they are being made to run harder tyres anyway, so tyre wear shouldn't be as much of a problem

Looks like the Mosler has indeed been pegged back, 5th and 11th overall. Looks like being a close race though with the top 4 cars covered by just 6 tenths of a second. http://www.msttiming.com/bf3gt/2007/72805bgt.pdf

But yeh, Modena for world domination, that Gallardo looks pretty sharp. |
