#14 Sponsorship in Jeopardy.
What A.J. Foyt don't need, Conseco Insurance company who was the main sponsor for Foyt's #14 Winston Cup team for the last few years has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and the company is under investigation for altering numbers in the books. The #14 team could be without a sponsor before the Daytona 500.

It looks bad, AJ will have to start looking quickly !
Kmart declared bankruptcy and they were gone for good. |

There has been talk about Larry Foyt moving up from Cup, taking Harrah's with him to the #14 car. The alternative was for Foyt to launch a second team, the #50 car, and run it alongside the #14, but now with Conseco's troubles, I think the first option will be the most likely turn of events.
Then again, as always, nothing is for sure until officially announced |

Immediatly I heard Conseco being in trouble I went "Conseco...isn't that...oh sh**s ar*e!." Let's hope Foyt finds something else to replace the loss of finance.

Conseco was only signed thru 2003 and he had said earlier in the year that it wasn't stable.
BTW anyone else notice that Kmart continued to be associate sponsor for SEVERAL open wheel teams for the whole year after they declared bankruptcy and dropped Carter? |

Its confirmed, Conseco will not sponsor A.J. Foyt's #14 Winston Cup car next year. In its place is Larry Foyt and his Harrah's sponsorship in the #14 Pontiac.
