Ex-Btcc Cars

I'm sure this has been discussed before but does anyone know what happens to the BTCC cars once a season has finished, other than those entered as privateer run cars the following year. Where are the Blend 37 RENAULTS for example ??

Some are sold to other teams in different championships, or put in museums, or kept by the teams for various reasons.

Matt Jacksons Ford Focus is in the showroom of Jackson Ford in Henley. I stopped off there for petrol recently and it wasn't until I saw the car that I realized where I was.

A lot of the 1990s cars now race in the Formula Saloon car championship. Others have been sold abroad.

And of a very good driver. It's annoying that O'Neill got a top drive after a much less impressive season, just because of his celebrity connections.

AndyF is right about the old Super Touring cars, a lot of minor and national championships put these to good use.

I heard a rumour that Willaims were going to sell the two Blend 37 Lagunas that are currently in the Williams museum !!!!!!!!!!!

Also the latest 2000 Honda Accords are up for sale for about £35k each.

huh ? that's a thread about lookalikes, we';re talking about about REAL racing cars.

There's quite a few ex-BTCC cars in the Formula Saloons series. Try this thread for details.

Rob West has one of the Lagunas (see his post in the above thread). Not many of the Willaims cars made it into private hands.

Oh well it makes interesting reading anyway.

The marshals use that for training - driver extractions, that sort of thing. I think the white car behind it is a Honda Accord.

just like an ascar has been donated to the marshals of the rock after recieving some serious panal bashing damage. I think those two are cars that have ended their racing lives at thruxton and gone to racing car heaven...

On closer inspection, it has Plato on 1 side and Menu on the other. Plus no number. Probably a display model?

Yeah, every so often, I resurrect the thread called ST cars for sale! =) Perhaps the moderators can dig it up. Yeah, if you have $40-50K US dollars lying around, you can also buy your own ST car. However, I've seen "fixer up-erss" Class 2 sedans for as little as 15K US!!! There are tonnes up for sale. Is there one you're looking for in particular???

It also has nothing forward of the windscreen and no running gear. It's wheeled around on castors.

Yeah but the 97 laguna colour scheme had one single "Laguna" on its side in a more rounded font. Where at the 96 had the two of them.Maybe its a mixture becasue i dont rember the 96 one being sponsored by carin

Wow, that is quite a mystery! I looked through my '96/'97 copies of the BTCC Touring Car Year, but could not find any Carin sponsor in 96. The paint scheme is definitely '96, but not Carin? OTOH, I guess we can rewatch the '96 review to see if Carin came in as a sponsor late in the season?
