Calling all Toronto-based Multimatic fans
Ayse and Fab, this is a bit of promo. Hope it's not too cheeky to post it here.
There's a cool store (well, stores, actually) that sells racing paraphernalia, called Minigrid. Mosport attendees will be familiar with them, as they always have a trailer in the paddock. Oh, and they'll know who owns it. They've just announced on their website that their first "motorsports professionals" meet 'n' greet will be the Multimatic DP design team. I'm guessing that Larry Holt, Barry McSherry, and of course the store owner will be there (at minimum). It will be at their downtown store. http://www.minigrid.com/ProductList....=79&StartRow=1 Or go to www.minigrid.com, click on the logo, click on "New," and click on "Mini Grid Guest Speakers." I expect I'll be going, and there are only 40 openings. See you there? Remember, these guys aren't limited to one series - although the prime, um, focus of this session would be their Daytona Prototype. Last edited by paul-collins; 16 Apr 2003 at 14:57. |

Well, they're involved. I'd say it's more run by Scott himself. I've always assumed as much, as his mom always asks him about what to order etc. I've only talked to his dad casually.
His folks are very nice people. The ol' apple doesn't fall far from the tree... |

Hey, I'm not sold on the concept either, but I think it would be interesting to talk to these guys about designing a race car to a new ruleset.
And of course they're the same people who ran a Lola/Nissan to win the inaugural LMP675 race, developed the Panoz LMP-07 with Mugen power, are helping JML with the running of the LMP1s this year, and are building the Panoz GT Esperante. Last edited by paul-collins; 17 Apr 2003 at 00:24. |
