You could be in for a shock. Officially there isn't any camping at Croft. Not sure about previous years but last year there was a field a few 100 yrds from the entrance which was used as a temporary site. No running water, one chemical toilet and long grass that hadn't been cut for some time, yours for £5 per night. Probably ok if you were in a camper van but not in a tent.

That's a fiver a head BTW... Nice enough place, the farmer was a friendly sort (I guess he would be at that price!) but it did suffer from some local yobs causing a bit of grief. At one point happened to glance over the hedge as there was some commotion and there was a local lass out of her head sitting in the gutter and having a leak...!!

Maybe try some of the sites on this page: http://www.mccoy-camping.co.uk/yorks...ngsnyorks1.htm I'm sure one of the sites in Northallerton will be worth a call?

Don't say you don't experience new things when camping at the BTCC!

There's a camp site at Scotch Corner, although I'm not 100% sure that they take tents!

we are camping about 35 minutes away by car in the Dales, near Aysgarth falls. Adequate facilities and nice pub next door. Found it in a newspaper from our local tourist Info office. it is costing £10 pernight for a family size tent.
