[V8SC09R23&24] BigPond 300, Barbagallo Raceway WA
So...
How quick will the green machine #25 be at this round? I suspect it will be hot again... a pole would be great, indicative of an incredible turn of form of the team and the driver. Mr Davison or Mr Whincup to be on top at the end of the day?? |

With Whincup and Davison possibly being a little cautious, as much as i hate to say it, it's "Frosty" for me.

HRT/GT are very strong here.
also this seems to be the round Steven Richards decides to turn up to each year. |

Doesn't matter how quick #25 is during qualifying, it will go pear shaped come race time. Situation normal.

Bright for Pole. Lap 1, in the sand. I'd rather see differently, but history suggests...
Looking forward to it, should be a pretty good slugfest. In a good way. |

Whincup has got where he is because he is a racer. He went backwards when he went into cautious mode. Don't expect to see anything but the racer in the last two rounds.

The race package needs refinement for sure... but a dearth of test days is not an aid to this... |

Brighty goes well at this circuit, and with the pace they have had since he got the FG, there is absolutely no reason for them not to be on the podium at the very least. He will be travelling to WA with a win firmly in his sites. All he needs to do is keep away from those Kelly boys!

For one Lap pace Bright has the experience and pace to burn as a man with as many miles in a V8SC and natural talent as he has should, but in a race length shootout i think it would be hard to draw a line in the sand. Always look forward to WA, tipping this will be the round where T8 & HRT (And the several other WP Cars) will start leaning on one another. |

This is T8's worst round.

My Favourite 08 moment was when Courtney/Besnard comeback drive at Bathurst. Courtney raced through to dominate the opening stint had 15 sec. gap to Lowndes who was in 2nd. In the 2nd stint a slowly deflating tyre (originally diagnosed as a damaged anti-roll bar) slowed Besnard's stint in Courtney's car allowing Whincup to assert dominance over the field rest of the race. On lap 160 S.Richards, fading badly on rear tyres was unable to stop Courtney move into 3rd place. |

Garth will rev up all of the sandgropers. Jamie will be there or there abouts. Lowndes will be involved in an incident. There will be a backmarker doing unusually well for once. It will rain for one of the days, be windy the other. There might be left rear tyre delaminations. Will will come third.
And confucius say " never eat yerrow snow". Yep. So many words of wisdom at this hour. All we need is our DNF maestro, the king of DNF, the host of the MWC boot barbeques, Mark Webber, to give advice to a driver. Then watch them go! Look at poor old Casey in Valencia... the ultimate DNF - crashing on the warmup lap! Only infinite words of wisdom from either confucius or our DNF king could produce such a clear, well planned and executed plan. |

It's a while back, but it did bucket down mid-race in the late 1980's (88 or 89, can't remember which - when Dick & JB were dominating in the Sierras, Moffat was still driving the ANZ car, so before his retirement). Cars on slicks sliding off, and beached up to their axles right around the circuit.

Bargwanna to put it on pole each day and win both races!!
Just remember Barg's keep away from those 888 guys they are holding you back. Real predictions, Steve Richards normally comes alive at this round but then the round is normally in May. Money will be on Tander in front of the home crowd and Whincup and Davison fighting over position 2 and 3. |

Nothing better than Larko's roll on the formation lap a few years back in the AU!!! I wonder if he will revisit that little event during his duties as pit reporter!
My dollars are on a competitive but conservative race by JW. I'd like to see #25, #18 and #6 up there, given the stupidity that can occur on the final corner, there will be carnage for someone. |

The final corner does always produce some action. Hard to go past Garth here, with WD and JW going for the championship pluss the fact that he is usually very good on his home track. With the sprint tyre in action I'm sure there is a fair chance of a different face on the podium.

GT at home
Can GT race for the win or does he have a tactical role to help Will?

ive never understood how that works, unless its about swapping positions, or trying to get in the gap between him and delay slightly. to do that though, first he has to get in front.
Sprint tyre round again, if i was Jamie i would be using a similar tyre strategy to Will, |
