Morgans @ Mallory 8th Aug

excellent meeting and nice weather. Does anybody have news on the Morgan +8 driver Chaz (unsure of surname) who had a heavy impact on lap one of the Peter Morgan memorial race?
Hopefully not too badly injured.

Chas is ok. He spent a couple of nights in hospital having x ray on head/neck (ok), plastic surgeon stitches in head/eyebrow cut and (amazingly) an op to get wood splinters out from behind eyeball. He's now up and runnung, which is more than can be said for his car. Glad Morgans are such strong cars - he was right behind me as he speared off the track at a huge rate of knots.

It was a shame since he had just done two fantastic qualifyings - never has a 4/4 been round Mallory quicker than that 52.7

Thanks for the update Peter, Really glad to hear Chas is virtually ok - It was a very big impact, his car was indeed a mess but as you say, a great testament to the strength of the 4/4.
You say Chas had an op to remove wood from behind his eyeball - would this wood have come from the barriers or off the car???
