Of the top 10 cars coming into turn 3 on the final lap, only about 3 of them made it to the finish line. Buescher was 11th at the time.

Now that was a shock. I thought Smoke had that in the bag after backing off the lap before to get the run on the outside, then Kurt moved up on Joey...
Fair play to Buescher though, you've gotta be in it to win it! |

ROAD AMERICA
I reckon we can revive this thread with a certain fan of a certain driver on hiatus.
The Sargento 200 Race Page from Jayski Fellows, Piquet Jr, Mad Max, Jackie V, and some others non-regulars have entered. Eric McClure is back behind the wheel this weekend after his scary crash at Talladega; good to hear. Should be a good show or a train wreck...either way, I'll be watching. |

Looks like rain is heading for Road America judging from the Grand Am coverage. Will they run on rain tyres?

It was a good race with people trying to balance the brakes. Great performance from Piquet. Fellows was his usual consistent self. I was thinking Villeneuve was a bit too quiet during the race. Papis was racey. As for Danica, she blossomed. I would've liked to have seen Kurt Busch in the mix towards the end. Boxer Busch versus torpedo Jacques would've made for an explosive finish.
Some of these road ringers should really be at Sonoma. |

That he is, i dont understand why he needs to wreck people on the final lap when running 5th or 6th. I could understand it if he was gunning for a win... Heard he was running V8 Supercar at Townsville round - he will be nowhere!

Danica did okay, but in all honesty the battle between her and Papis led to her eventual demise. Had she been content to follow Max, their lap times would have improved, and teh train of Villaneuve/Hornish/Scott/Busch wouldn't have caught them, and as a result, she wouldn't have been punted out of the way.
