Where they got it right - Best calender?

Which year did CART/Champcars/PPG Indycars come up with the best calender of circuits for the teams and drivers to race on?
I belive that in 1999 they got it right, with a nearly 50/50 split.

http://www.racingcircuits.net/_series/cart/1999.html

Some of the earlier calenders were good, like 1984, but what is your favorite?

Discuss!

Hazza, it's hard to answer this question without looking over every individual year's schedule.

But I picked one at random. Ten years ago. ChampCar wasn't venturing into Mexico yet, but the schedule had a good mix of street/road/oval.

Australia
Phoenix
Long Beach
Indy
Milwaukee
Detroit
Portland
Cleveland
Toronto
Michigan
Mid-Ohio
New Hampshire
Vancouver
Elkhart
Nazareth
Laguna

But, IMO, any schedule with the "Triple Crown" would be worth serious consideration.

2001, Because they were over here, and the racing at Rockingham was good both years, and better than that unfortunate Brands thing.

Plus the excursions to Mexico had begun in earnest...

And there were a good few ovals still around too!

I'd tend to agree with 2001:

Monterrey
Long Beach
Texas.... well, I guess not Texas...
Nazareth
Japan
Milwaukee
Detroit
Portland
Cleveland
Toronto
Michigan
Chicago
Mid-Ohio
Elkhart Lake
Vancouver
Germany
England
Houston
Laguna Seca
Australia
Fontana

It only seems to be missing Montreal. Other than that, I think it's perfect.

I think we were also spoiled back in the early 90s by the great street tracks we have, forget australia, back then Vancouver and Long Beach were AWSOME! Instead of just great as they are now.

They had it right or close enough to right for a number of years from the late 90s-early 00s. I really like the Mexico city track, Montreal is a cool track, but it's not been that great from an action standpoint.
