No idea, but some clues:
http://www.autodiva.fr/forum/viewtop...t=198&start=40 Looks like Gerard Gosset's Mazuin was a "championship contender". Possibly Porsche engined with March bits and won a Belgium championship in 1986? And it came over to UK in 2000? That is a little hazy and from a quickish internet search (link above) |

Interesting, but I think that this may get a better response in the Motorsport History section, so I'm moving it there!

When I see Mk 1 Escorts up for sale without any history for over £30k that looks a reasonable buy to me sorry. It does have some history and who knows maybe one day things will move on from this stuck in a time warp Pre-66 thing and cars from the 70's and 80's with a bit of history however small will be more desirable. Anyhow a bidder and an underbidder valued it at around that so thats its money. BTW the chassis looked to be an alloy monoque, how could that be rusted away, it looks reasonable sound to me and with its Lola heritage it must have a value surely if a T70 is worth over a million quid! I wish the buyer good luck with the project and if he posts here maybe he could keep us updated as at the end of the day he will have a nice looking car.

They were probably saying a similar thing back in the 60's :-)

In fact I know they were as I nearly bought a T70 from Paul Hawkins for under a grand!

As one of the underbidders I agree it's an absolute bargain. I wasn't far short either, but luckily for my marriage, race budget and sanity someone wanted it a bit more, they probably have somewhere to put it !

right i am now off 911hillclimbers thread and back to the original one. I will post updates as often as they occur. I have been informed the car ran a 911 RSR engine, and used the march f2 suspension as noted by driftwood. Alot of fabrication to be carried out but this project is not for money just for the love of going fast
the car back in the day |

Those extra pics make it look even better!
Stacks of pics please and I'm very keen to see the bare chassis. |

Its been a while since the last update but here is a couple of pics of the chassis after some restoration.
The body work is in very poor condition but is slowly being repaired, however whilst waiting for the lola bodywork to come together i stumbled across some skoda body work which very nicely fits over the chassis as if its was made for it. So 911hillclimber go and get that karman ghia body and join the special saloons. |

Looks bloody great!
I hesitated over the Skoda body that was for sale on Racecarsdirect, but it was sold before I made my mind up..... Have you sorted the engine/box out yet? Being 3 x your age I'm too old now to even dream of Super Saloons but after going to the first meeting at Mallory I certainly can see the attraction! Fantastic cars and the Lola is the real deal too (except for the engine, but I think it would be ok as a backmarker) Do not leave it sooo loooong until the next update. Another 911 engined sport racer is being built I know to, maybe it was him who stole the Skoda body from my hesitant mind... |

Its not me Graham, but I did see the body you mention. I have a long way to go yet but am cracking on and have decided to go for 908/3 bodywork.
I know pictures required....., but I promise to put some out soon |

Yes, I thought it was you!
I was very tempted by the Skoda, and even Mrs Hillclimber was up for it, but too late, someone had left a deposit and it didn't fall through... Finding a Sports Racer body is very hard, and the prices are a bit dazzelling for new ones. I know where there is a French blue one a bit faded for sale very close to this thread! Pictures! |

I'm starting to catch you up with my Nike but am desperate to find bodywork that is suitable.
