Chandhok bids to improve UK single seaters.

Karun Chandhok has got a place on the board of directors of Motorsport UK and his first task is to improve UK single seater racing. Is this a good move for the general competitor or will it be another case of targeting rich fathers to encourage them to spend their money in the UK rather than elsewhere?

The BRDC F3 has 17 entries and the British F4 has 19 entries. It's not that bad, but could be better too.

So they've introduced a competing category to F4 set to race on the British GT bill, at the same time as we actually have decent grid numbers in F4.

If the budget for this car for a season is £120-150k, what does a season of British Formula 4 cost ? I wonder what the performance is compared to the British F4 car ?

Finally, I have always thought that Formula 4 should be a second step in single seater racing with a more basic car for youngsters graduating from karts. Why not promote Formula Ford and support British manufacturers.

Is this as well as British F4 or instead of?

Picture shows no halo, which I find surprising.

As well as.

The car is basically the current BRDC/GB-3 car (without some upgrades). Hence the lack of halo.
