Dov should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Interesting e-mail...

From another forum....

Long Beach email
I got this forwarded to me.. I looked around and didn't see it posted, but as usual I miss stuff, so sorry if it's a repeat...

At least there are some circuits that don't throw a public fit on the latest news.

Subject: Toyota Grand Prix of LB news

> December 18, 2003

To Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach supporters:

Like a lot of you, we at the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach have been anxiously awaiting the developments regarding the future of CART. We are happy to report some significant progress in that regard.
This week, the buyout of CART by the Open Wheel Racing Series group - Paul Gentilozzi, Kevin Kalkhoven and Gerry Forsythe - was approved by the CART Board of Directors. Our contact with this new ownership group has given us every indication that they are intent on providing the leadership and capital to allow CART to move forward and rejuvenate the series. Attached to
this letter are several news stories about the CART buyout and the series' future; I invite you to read what journalists are writing about it.

Under a revised schedule, the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach will now serve as the debut of the "new" CART, as the 16-race, 2004 Champ Car World Series gets underway at the World's Fastest Beach Party from April 16-18.
The other Dover Motorsports-promoted event, the CENTRIX Financial Grand
Prix
of Denver, moves two weeks earlier on the slate to August 15.

> And there will be much more to accompany the featured Champ Car race in '04. Already confirmed for the weekend are the Toyota Atlantic Championship
race, featuring Danica Patrick, who finished second in her last race of
2003
at Miami; the 28th Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, the Motorock Trans-Am Series
and a unique historic race featuring vintage Formula 5000, Formula One and
1984-90 era Indy Cars. Other exciting activities that will be incorporated
into race weekend include a "Fiesta Friday" concert with a Latin-themed
band and the Saturday night concert featuring a nationally known rock-n-roll
act.

Things are looking very positive for next year's event. If you haven't done so already, I invite you to order your tickets for the 2004 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. The Grand Prix Association is committed to making the 30th Anniversary Grand Prix the best ever for you, our fans. We hope to
see you in April.

Sincerely,

Jim Michaelian
President & CEO
Grand Prix Association of Long Beach

Wow, 30 years! I didn't remember that the first F1 race there was that long ago.

It also illustrates how many Francophones were in F1 and how now only Panis is left...

p1 - Gilles, viva Gilles.

Yes I read that the Trans-Am would be on the bill, that'll be great - are ALMS going to share any dates?
