The Toyota Program
While watching the qualifying this morning on Speedvision, Sam Posey made the comment that the Toyota is really slow, so slow in fact, that the 107% rule may have to be changed for next year, because the cars would never qualify otherwise. And this was their major reason for going after Brunner. I'm aware that it's a pretty secret program, but does anyone have any information about the program that could confirm this?
This doesn't sound too good for Alan or Mika! |

Senna12, I heard the same comment and wondered how Posey knew. Then again, it was Sam Posey saying it so I immediately discounted it.
I don't think anyone knows how the Toyota is doing relative to the other teams. And "Adelaide" is nine months away. A lot could happen in that time, like Ralf winning more races, [Muffy]. Last edited by EERO; 12 May 2001 at 12:45. |

Yes it had me wondering too, EERO. Both he and David Hobbs were throwing out the odd little tidbit, as if these 2 have regular contact with the drivers and thus some inside information. I was wondering who in the Toyota organization would admit to the car being a dog so early in its development. And if it were true, why tell Sam Posey!
