Thruxton training Sunday 22 nd

A few of us from the Kumho BMW series are doing the observers training on Sunday and might stay over Saturday night to reduce the travelling. Any of you guys stopping over? If so, where? Maybe we can meet up.

John

the problem will be that different training is done on the two days.

Saturday is mainly for novices and course/incident marshals, whereas Sunday is for observers, flag and specialist marshals.

Therefore not many people are likely to be staying over and therefore go to both days.

Personally I will be there on the Sunday, so look out for the wheelchair (see if you see it coming)!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the explanation Steve.
Look forward to seeing you and all the other flag, obs and specialists on Sunday then.
Hope that you will be observing the track rules in your chariot.
Cheers
John

Very good of you lads to give up your time to assist us and give us your perspective from the cockpit. Much appreciated. You can always join us for a chat at lunchtime as the BARC 'sausage & mash' is often superb!

Martin, you are most welcome, but it's not just altruism. We have a number of our own Driving Standard Advisors, whom we would like to receive the same training as you guys.
We are also hoping to exchange experiences and ideas, particularly on avoidable contact situations.
We've booked in for lunch, so look forward to that.

I feel it will be mutually advantageous. Perhaps one of you might feel that a day 'on the bank' would add to your attitudes towards racing & marshalling.
I know David Leslie joined in at the Chicane with us a couple of years ago , threw himself into it wholeheartedly and really appreciated the experience.
I see he is at Oulton (?) training this year, so he still must recall the day!
We liked the exchange of views!

Sound advice given the increasing costs!
Martin
We are awarding points equivalent to a class win for any driver doing a days marshalling, so hopefully, you will see all our guys out there at some point this season.
Trevor and I I did a day at Donnington last year, had a great time and learned a lot.
