Yet we had over twice the passing of last year's races at Vegas and Bristol with the Gen 6, the polesitter hasn't won a race, and since the move to 400 miles there's been 1 out of 3 races that were actually boring at Fontana?

Good lord...

I think it'll be more of the track than the car that will cause boring racing this time around.

Although it's getting better I'm still suspicious about the aero on the new car - It seems to get better the smaller the track is. I have a suspicion that with Fontana being as wide and fast as it is we could see a pretty static race up front.

SPOILER:

Unless you want to cure your or a relative's case of insomnia, don't bother watching today's Nationwide race. I watched only 30 laps and still fell asleep.

I'm feeling pretty positive about the race myself. The Nationwide race yesterday was pretty good. It'll come down to who's ot the car best set up for the bumps on the backstretch.

They were also talking yesterday about the bitumen seams between the strips of tarmac and how they get slippery when it gets hot. I think that could also cause issues if today's track temperature is any hotter than yesterday.

Eventually one of these restarts is going to end in tears. Amazing stuff, 5 wide on the apron.

Just tuned in about 20-30 mins ago. Were there any debris cautions, or were the yellows all legit? I know Hill dropped oil on the track and just now, Nemechek hit the wall. Those are the 2 cautions I know of.

Just tuned in for the finish. Hope to be half way decent last 40 laps, here. I see Capt Snothead is out front and JJ is sliding and sawing away thru the corners....

Come on, it's an oval, not an octogon! Drivers should criticise dangeorus moves, but not try to hurt each other on purpose.

I hope Hamlin's ok. That did not look good having to be carried out in a stretcher after the crash.

For all I know, Logano probably wrecked Hamlin on purpose trying to hold on to the lead at the end.

EDIT: being transported to a hospital, but awake and alert.

In all fairness, I think Joey just slid up into Denny's car, which when you're pushing hard like that is gonna happen. And I really don't know what Tony Stewart is getting all huff 'n' puff about with the restart, because Joey did nothing wrong, he was purely defending his position.

Martinsville is gonna be a real interesting race.

Looking at the results last I remember, Stewart ended up finishing 22nd or so. He restarted behind Logano. That must have been what angered him.

Just like Waltrip and Earnhardt Sr. at Richmond Fairgrounds 1986, but at 180 mph instead of 80.

I guess Tony has forgotten about causing a 24-car wreck last season doing pretty much what Logano did...

Someone really needs to have a word with Logano though. He looked determined to wreck someone from about 50 to go and his post-race comments completely crossed the line. His crew may as well go and paint a bullseye on the back of their Martinsville car.

Logano - and I'm not a great fan of his - just had a racing accident. It was a great conclusion to the race.

I've been watching NASCAR on and off for ten years or more and from what I've seen, Stewart is never far from controversy and nothing's changed. I know he's not liked by many people, but from what I've seen, he makes it fairly easy for people to dislike him.

I agree with you Paradise, just a racing incident between two guys pushing hard for the win. Joey slid up in to Denny's car and unfortunately Denny race ended up in the wall. Was a big hit, but fingers crossed he will be okay.
