2005 V8 Supercar Chassis
With a number of teams debuting new chassis, perhaps it would be timely
to compile a definitive list of who is racing which chassis at the AGP, this is the state of play from my understanding: Stone Brothers Racing - Ambrose is using the same chassis as he used in 03/04, Ingall is debuting a new one. Holden Racing Team - Skaife is using chassis # 050 which he debuted at the Symmons Plains round late last year, T Kelly is debuting a new chassis, # 051. Tasman Motorsport - One car will be the VY built last year, although whether the 2nd car is new or one of the 2001 VXs upgraded is unknown. Ford Performance Racing / Birtek - Ritter is debuting a new car, Bright and Owen using 2 of the 03 built cars, presumably the ex Cat ex Besnard car and the ex Seton car as these were the 2 that were rebuilt in 04. Perkins Engineering - Dumbrell, Davison, Tratt and Richards are using chassis 040 - 043 from last year respectively. WPS - Continuing with the ex 00 BA's with Besnard in the same car he used last year and Baird in the ex Yoong, ex Noske car. Larkham Motor Sport - Bargwanna is driving LMS006 which he debuted at the beginning of 04, Winterbottom LMS005 from 03. Brad Jones Racing - Bowe is using the car he debuted at the beginning of 04, Jones one of the 03 built cars. Kelly Motorsport - Kelly and Tander are either using their Bathurst winning chassis from last year HRT 043 & 044, or possibly last year's HRT cars 048 & 049. Dick Johnson Racing - Johnson is using DJRBA16 which was debuted at Sandown last year, Seton a new chassis DJRBA17. Garry Rogers Motorsport - McConville is using the ex Tander car from last year which debuted at the end of 03, Jones the ex McConville car which was built at the beginning of 03. Team Dynamik - Using the same 2 VYs as in 04, TD002 and TD003. Paul Weel Racing - Presumably using 2 of their HRT chassis 041/042/047. Paul Morris Motorsport - Morris and Radisich are both debuting new VZs Triple 8 Engineering - Elllery is using one of last year's chassis, Lowndes is debuting a new one. |

McConvilles care from last year is not being used, unless he had 2. At the open day, it was the wheel change compotition car, still in 2004 livery.

I believe some of the older cars have been sold off. PWR have obtained an ex. K-mart chassis HRT046 which Greg Murphy debuted back in AGP2002. I believe that is the car Greg is driving. Paul Weel is probably in Chassis HRT047 that Jason Bright (Car 2 HRT) debuted in Winton 2002. I have noticed that Chassis HRT047 onwards has a horizontal bar as along the top of the dash as part of it's roll-cage. |

I thought 046 was the chassis that Murphy ditched part way through last year in favour of 043 after not being able to get a good setup out of it.

Interestingly, Rick Kelly was driving the exHRT Plato/Brock car (that was 'drilled' by John Cleland last year at Bathurst.)
The funny part was, when this was pointed out to him, he had a look on his face that said...."I hope it isn't THAT exHRT car!!" |
