Details/history sought 1986 Van Diemen RF86 FFord chassis 1041 history

HELP REQUESTED to facilitate an Australian CAMS Historic Log book/Cert of Description I am asking if anyone knows any early race history of this car 1986-1990 and onwards please?

Delivered to Azois Schmellmann (Switzerland) possibly via agent and I have no further history until purchased in UK 2007 via Mick Gardner M'sport UK who I understand was only the agent in this transaction on behalf of the (then) owner. Car has Van Diemen Heritage Certificate varifying and I have asked them to help also.

Car seems to have been extensively raced probably in England and I will throw in another name (R.Dean) but otherwise I am lost and need some help please.

Car can be viewed on www.ibcholdings.com.au/cars but doubt whether this will help as was originally white but since painted blue /yellow stripe as you will see ...

Contact Rob on email victoriainn@bigpond.com if you have any further details please.

Car is in Sydney - Australia.

Thanks

R.Dean is Richard Dean, you will be able to get hold of him at United Autosports.

THANK you Barry but really need 1986-1990 history so could do with a Bassett Hound or a member of the KGB to track all this down ... not easy an little co-operation available. Car will become a "coffee table" if details not found.

Cheers MURGATROID

Your 2009 Jerez race engineer raced an RF86. Maybe he knows?

Richard's car shows the Jim Lee logo on the front. This was a team that ran from Birstal in West Yorkshire, former motorcycle specialist Jim ran a few local drivers including Scott Stringfellow and I think Tim Sugden was involved. Eventually when Jim died it was run by his son I think and then Richard took over and ran his teams from that base for years until he joined Ginetta.

I have communicated with Richard Dean (thanks) but his car had different chassis number. I have found Schnellman's email addresses (2) in Switzerland but so far has not replied after over a week. Could be away etc but it doesn't take much to press a few keyboard buttons ... or does it? HELP!!!

If you would like to send me the details you have so far of this chassis then i will post them on the fledgling www.goldenera-formulaford.com website asking for further info.

Either PM me or email on info@goldenera-formulaford.com

Hopefully this might generate some further info, after all that is the intention of the web site.
