HSCC Historic F1 Championship 1988 and 1989

Not exactly Historic Racing "Today", but some of you guys have been in the historic racing world for quite a while.

Before Masters F1 there was Thoroughbred Grand Prix, and before TGP there was the HSCC Historic F1 Championship, which ran from 1988 to 1994. Before that, there was an ad hoc series of races for "Historically Interesting F1 Cars", which goes as far back as 1982. With the help of Jeremy Jackson, Andrew Fellowes, the HSCC and the late great David McKinney, and more recently Ben Cowdrey, I have the entry lists for almost all of these HSCC races and the results for most of them, but I am trying trying to find full results for most of the races held in 1988 and 1989.

Does anyone have any results sheets from these events? Or practice results or grid sheets?

The HSCC race meetings in question were:

Oulton Park 30 April 1988
Brands Hatch 05 June 1988
Donington Park 17 July 1988
Oulton Park 30 July 1988 (also need entry list for this race)
Thruxton 11 September 1988
Silverstone 24 September 1988
Snetterton 16 October 1988

Oulton Park 20 May 1989
Brands Hatch 04 June 1989
Pembrey 01 July 1989
Oulton Park 29 July 1989
Donington Park 10 September 1989
Silverstone 23 September 1989 (have results, but need entry list for this race)
Snetterton 22 October 1989 (have results, but need entry list for this race)

Many thanks
Allen

Allen, I may have photos from some of these events but no results sheets. Probably a couple of programmes also but not for the races you're lacking entry lists for. Phil

No programmes for any of those I'm afraid.

Re Mondello 1990, I was there but don't have a programme so working off memory;

The race was a battle between a 76 Penske PC3 (ex Watson) driven by Alan Baillie and a March (761 blue and yellow ex Peterson) driven by Lew Wright. Baillie won, so that was the 1 & 2. They were well ahead of the rest.

There was a Wolf WR1(?) driven by a chap whose name escapes me but he went on to race a Williams FW06 a year or two after. The Wolf crashed from pole position (or front row at least) on the first corner. I also remember a Williams FW08C which was very nice indeed and an ex Jarrier Tyrell 009.

The entry wasn't massive, maybe 12 cars?

Probably John Fenning in the Wolf.

John Fenning, that's him.

I also now recall Lorina McLoughlin in a 76 McLaren M23.

Mike Littlewood was probably involved in a Wolf? and Richard Peacock in the 009?

It was definitely John Fenning in the Wolf and pretty sure it wasn't Richard Peacock in the 009, he would have been nearer the front I'd say.

Wasn't it Max Samuel Camps who raced a Tyrrell 009 in the late eighties/early nineties ? IIRC Richard Peacock raced a Tyrrell 010 .

Although I wasn't at the Mondello race I was at the season ending Thruxton race in October 1990 . I have come across a Photograph Album containing several pictures from that day , some of which are drivers that have not yet been mentioned .

Mike Wilds , the ex Grand Prix driver was racing a March 811 , Ted Williams a Ligier JS21 , Tony Gordon a Williams FW08C , John Harper was in an Arrows A5 while John Fenning is listed as racing Wolf WR2 . Do any of those ring any bells Graz ?

Of those only John Fenning. Wilds and Williams were definitely not there. I don't believe Harper was either. Of the others I haven't recalled, there was a 'tea tray' March (ugly) and an earlier Surtees.
