P.Cummins should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Road Racing

I am more of a raod racing fan than a circuit racing fan but I have only got interested in the sport at the start of this year. My knowledge of it isn't great, I wouldn't know any legends and I'm not sure about elegibility either. But I love seeing bikes at over 150mph flying down some Irish or British roads. It a very dangerous sport and fair play to the drivers who do it
I'm looking at BBC coverage (which cover some N.Irish championship I think). Few days ago it was the Cookstown 100 (or 1000???). Anyone see it? I'm now familier with a few names like Ryan Farquar, Darren Lindsey and Barry Maguire. But thats about it

So, anyone else into it?

Ive got a passing interest in it, always watch the Isle of Man TT race when it comes around on TV, and always make sure I know who the winner is of the North West 200, last year it was Michael Rutter if my memory serves me correctly, that event in particular seems to grow year upon year. Shame we dont get more coverage of road racing on TV.

I am not sure guys but I am pretty confident we dont get an road coverage on mainstream tv in the mainland.
I have seen occasional footage from Irish racing on some of te Sky channels but not much, and of course the TT is on as well.
Shame actually coz it is mighty fine stuff, those gauys are total heroes

Some Irish road racing is shown on Motorsport Asia (on ESPN), and also some coverage of the TT.

Channel 10 was showing Isle of Man TT for a few years in the late 90s, but not anymore.

BBC Northern Ireland shows coverage of some road races here in Ireland. Every Monday night at around 10 O Clock I think. Maybe BBC in uk is the same. Worth a try.

For a while I've been thinking about buying some old TT reviews, like '92 - The best TT Senior Race ever?

Indeed yes, and those of us with Sky can always watch BBC Northern Ireland. Unfortunatly though theres nothing on next Monday night at 10pm thats motorsport related. Ah well, do keep us informed when it is on though would u? If u dont mind.

Saw last nights programme and IMO was very good, a good 3 wins for Richard Briton on the Suzuki, the championship seemed a lot more professional than I was expecting it to look too, thanks for the heads up P.Cumming's, ill look out for the next edition for sure.

The TT is coming up just next month, actually. I shall enjoy attending it for a day

Hopefully Ch10 will show highlights. They do every so often.

If you want to see road racing at realistic prices then the southern 100 road races are a must, far cheaper than TT week. They are at castle town on the isle of man 11-14th July, a lot of top names are normally there like lougher, anstey farquar & lindsey. All the races are mass starts & there are sidecars there aswell, it is a real spectacle, night life in Douglas is pretty good aswell. i've got my space on the seacat booked, it falls nicely into the gap in my season

Good web site below for road racing

The North-West 200 was on Men & Motors last night. Absolutley fantastic, and more than a little scary whizzing past trees, curbs and hedges at 200mph.

Thanks for that.I did try at 10pm as per a previous post, and only found the news the same as all other regions.. Never was much of a bike fan until I saw the 'on bike' shots from those road races.

Well, most famous road race of all time (well, ok maybe that is a bit exagerated) but the TT races will be on tonight at 11:40-12:10 on BBC1 or BBC2 (cant remember). Would be worth watching.

92 was the year I went to the Isle of Man. Hope to get back there again one year. Long way from Australia.. The Poms were going off with Carl Fogarty then the gearbox, then Steve Hislop.. And what a bonus there was 2 Aussies in the sidecars Porteous/Spencer finished 9th after race 2. Awesome event the TT
