marc bishop should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

the best review has 2 be 1998 by a long shot.every round ( expect 4 brands hacth)was entertaining.plus it has the best race ever on it!(rounds 11 & 12).ive must of wacthed this 20 times since its been out.whats your top 5??????
( i havent included 1990 -1994 coz i havent seen them yet,)

1 = 1998. ( best moment, round 12) ( worst, the video ending) 10/10
2= 1997 ( best moment, round 1 ) ( worst, menu running away with the lead) 9/10
3= 1995 ( best, cleland winning,) ( worst, cleland crashing ) 8/10
4= 1994 ( best, not sure......) ( worst, a certain alfa winning quite a lot) 8/10
5= 1996 ( best, snetterton ) ( worst, audi winning) 7/10

can this year make it in the top 5??????????????

and i think some one will probley have come up with this topic before, so dont even say it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All i know is that BHP did an excellent job with the edited highlights and the post-season video reviews-i only hop Octagon can keep the excellent coverage.

The 1992 video is by FAR the best.

After that, the Super Touring formula was just wrecked by high-tech gadgets:

1. During 1992, ABS was introduced
2. 1993 brought sequential gear shifters (except BMW)
4. 1994 brought Alfa Romeo - say no more.
5. 1995 brought 'standardised' wings/splitters (EVIL!)

And the grip levels just rocketed... OK, so the engine power outputs also went up a little (say, 280 bhp in 1992, up to 325 bhp in 2000). I wish TOCA had done something about the gadgets...

Anyway, everyone should get themselves a copy of the 1992 tape. It's superb!

Yeh i got the '92 reveiw and its very good, but i do like the look of cars with spoilers and splitters, but by 2000 they did get too much grip so i get the best of both worlds in 2001:

1992-1994/5 style racing (everyone side by side)
1997-2000 look of the cars! (spoilers etc..)

role on 2000 and uno

I think they had too much grip in the first race of 1995! I can't believe that after that Donington race, there were no moves to ban the wings/splitters.

In fact, I think the cars were too sophisticated in 1993/4 too. Those from 1991/2 are just *so* much better! Yes, they go a bit slower, and don't have the Max Power body kits, they are all over the place in the corners!

1997 was the best video cause it tells you at the start who the drivers are, teams are etc etc

Who was the presenter guy at the start that introduced you to drivers & teams. His voice really makes you want to sit down and watch it. All the cameras at angles and kinda black & white pictures when drivers were interviewed made me sit down and watch more.

Why not just look on the back cover of the video box. If you're talking about 1997 in was "presented by Steve Slater".

1993 & 1998 Mansell style

No question in my mind 1993 - TOCA shootout with Mansell and of course 1998 with Mansell at Donnington..come back Nigel and someone this time give the bloke a decent car!!

The trouble with Mansell is that he tends to attract the flag waving brigade - annoying when one of the flags happens to wave in front of your camera just as you're taking a nice photo
Yes, Mansell at Donington in 1998 was certainly impressive and standing on the Old Hairpin that day was one of the highlights of my season that year, but for Brands and Silverstone - he really needn't have bothered. Still, at least Silverstone meant I got a good pic of him taking the Mondeo on a little grassy excursion

Back onto the actual topic, I've never really bothered with the review vids. I've got 1989, 1998 and I bought 1999 at the end of the '99 season, but still haven't got round to watching it yet. Anyone care to tell me if it's any good?

yes watch 1999 review cos we are on it before the eggy bennetts was formed three of the members were on the video - re matt neal spinning at thruxton nearly taking out kox in the august meeting etc anyway as the camera cuts to a spinning kox u see myself and two other lads on a bank just before church so that is our claim to stardom, infact me an stu tuf were on the vid twice as matt neal pulled some stunts before the silverstone meeting after matt had won at donington!!
