Britcar and Changes to the 24 hour race
Following on from the announcement that Britcar has been taken over by Claire Hedley from the end of the season, there is this interesting news:

I can't wait, and we have signalled our intent already.
We were going to do the race in whichever guise it took as I heard about the possible change back in April. |

Silverstone 24hrs has had lots of problems with noise limits. In previous years GT cars have often struggled, and failed, to get below the limit.
Restricting to 102dB and making touring cars only makes a lot of sense. |

as an example - this weekend's Creventic 24hr Barcelona has 36 touring cars willing to play second fiddle to the GTs
(9 in A5 - BMW M3, 15 A3turbo - Seat Leon, 9 A2 - Clio & 3 Diesels - VW Golf) Throw in the extra TCR, "Youngtimers" & "Classic" classes mentioned plus any others who might be tempted by a chance at an overall win and you could be looking at a pretty solid grid. But please just look at moving it from April |

Since there's not GT entries, it would be cool to see BTCC drivers on those Seat León and BMW M3.

Radiolemans have just announced on their Dubai 24hr coverage, another touring car only race at Slovakia in June (not sure of the date) and plans for another touring car only 12hr race in Germany.

Slovakia is 14/15/16 June- yes, a mid-week race!
The German race has been announced as Meppen, 23-24 September. (Meppen looks like a kart track  )These are rounds 2 and 3 of the newly announced Touring Car Endurance Series. Silverstone is round 1. |
