Someone with vision, who can break the stranglehold VESA have on support categories. Major national event support classes shouldn't be about the money, but about the best interests to the industry. |

Nothing against those name above but the CEO should be a person with experience of running a multi million dollar company and not someone from within the CAMS family. CAMS needs an outsider to come in and as mentioned take a broom to a few areas of the organisation from a staffing and procedural perspective and hopefully get CAMS back on track. |

You presume the CAMS CEO has power, express or implied, to change the course of the SS Titanic...
I would take the job, but if its like the other jobs at CAMS, it doesnt pay enough through the front door |

Agredd with you PVDA, CAMS needs someone totally outside the industry.
The boys club has had its time, and now's the time for change. |

If Colin Osborne is serios about transforing CAMS, is this not a gif he should be aspiring to? Perhaps he can be President AND CEO?

Osbourne and Freddie Fintoff-- what a double. Both leading a sinking ship as they do their version of the Titanic. I reckon Osbourne could lead Cams into oblivion faster than any other candidate I can think of. |

Who gets the job is pretty much irrelevent, the CEO is ultimately responsible to the Board and the Board has to answer to it's member clubs.
Imagine if a new CEO from outside the sport or inside for that matter after due examination decided that there are just way too many categories that no one watches and have limited or no sponsor support. OK who's to go? Way too many one make series Carrera Cup, HQs what about the Ausie Racing Cars? Open Wheelers are a mess replace Formula 3 and F Ford with what? Sportscars? GT3 or Marque Sports and what version of Marque/Production Sports? Imagine the outcry, remember the Towards 2000 report kerfuffle. Just ask Peter Hansen how far you'll get proposing any real radical change at CAMS. Not a chance. Last edited by inpitlane; 19 Dec 2006 at 11:20. |
