Sears Point-Sonoma-Infineon
The NASCAR raec here was actually funtastic, but the best laps were 99.whatevr seconds-that is 1:39.xxx seconds-theses things are so slow
the stormin Trans Am cars were running 1.14.xxx the whole time now the trans am cars wiegh in about 1000 pounds less according to the rules wit about 100-200 less horsepower depending on the source- how are the speeds so much greater-and for comparo the NASCAR trucks (which i really like for some odd reason-lets hope they race LONGBEACH when Toyota gets in the fray) these brutes did Sonoma at 91.xx seconds-1:31xxx how are th eaero challenged trucks so much quicker than the cars in NASCAR? (time sourced from series website www.nascar.com and www.trans-amseries.com) I am A sportscar GT fan above all but allthese tintops on a road course do it well, but what is going on here? all have live axles, and the drivers hover around similar talents(except Ron Fellows,Boris SAID, the 2 Gordons, and stewart these guys are clearly better.) |

sorry revision- the NASCAR guys this year (not the previous pole by Wallace on the NASCAR.com page- is 76.522seconds or-1:16.522) still it is 3 seconds off Trans Am pace- but now I get it the cars weigh in 1000 pounds less give or take horsepower but 650 compared to 800?
and this still doesn't explian the trucks going so fast...um move this to the NASACR forum i guess... |

I'm not going over there. Just wanted to mention you forgot Mark Martin and Ricky Rudd, they know the road rules. I did like that it came down to NASCAR's two best road racers of the regulars. But I feel sorry for Ron, I was really pullin' for him. He would have won if those rednecks weren't playin' in the sand and bringin' out yellows.
