DMSentra should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Wheel travel amounts

I'm having a time figuring travel amounts for setting up this car. It isn't as simple as educated guessing judging by how rough the courses are is it? If I go that route it seems that maybe 2" of bump would be plenty. How have some of you arrived at this for a baseline setup? Loren.
p.s. I feel that I'm second guessing myself on so much of some of these figures that feedback would help.

2" would be enough for moost tracks. But you are right, track condition is a big factor. The more wheeltravel the more the camber problem arises. So, you must take A-arm geometry in to concideration.

What about ripple strips and the occasional off road excursion. Just what sort of car is it and what surface is raced on?......trikes

Sorry Trikes, it's asphalt autocross and a DMod Sentra. Dual A arms front and rear.

Cars that I've set up for bitumen have all had 4" of travel though they only used most of it during extreme moments. Currently I'm with a three car team on clay. 7" is the norm and we are using nearly all of it when the track is cutting up. Goran those surfaces DM is setting up for would 2" be enough. Spring rates would have to be fairly high to stay off the bump stops - yes? DM Do those tracks u race on have the car moving around in heave much?....trikes

Trikes, i was just talking bump so total wheeltravel could be 4-5". I am running something called "Nordic Supercar" ,have a look at....
http://www.nordicsupercar.com/galleri.php
On my own Pantera which acually is a streetcar, (to be able to test things without going to a track everytime), I have 2" bump before hitting bumprubber. Springs is 3Hz.
The NS racecar, Corvette C-6, that I designed and that is under build right now, is calculated to use 1,5" bump travel. 1,5" dgr roll makes for a 7/8" wheel travel each side. The car got some 2,5" ground setting.
Well, a not to extreem car would certainly us more wheel travel.

bitumen? heave? "The car got some 2,5" ground setting."??
Heave meaning multiple bumps in a row maybe?

bitumen? Tarmac, asphalt - regular road surface
heave? I am from the same country as Trikes and I am guessing! But maybe floating on the springs, sort of like heavy weight transfer from one corner to the other.
"The car got some 2,5" ground setting."?? I would say Ground Clearance, Goran does beter in English than we do in Swedish!

We kind of call what you do a Motorkhana in Australia, but I think you run on more open courses and at higher speed than we do.

Goran, I just realized I may have sounded like I was being mean. Not meant that way at all, just trying to understand.
